Can I?

Can I stand with you?

Can we both place our feet into the ground, let the dirt form between our toes?

Can we link hands and sway side to side as we call onto deceased ancestors?

Singing old folk songs and dancing around the fire pit.  Jumping with glistening eyes and laughter at our lips.

And maybe when our breathe catches and our legs tire with our heavy bodies because our passion seems to get the best of us.

We can lay down and intertwine fingers

Your lips, bow shaped sending arrows to mine,

targeting with a passion you can’t deny.

So please, never stop your plunder because what is mine is yours and the treasures I possess can be shared for two.
