Parvati called Dev's office at 5 PM as his mobile was switched off "Mam... Sir is in a meeting. I can't interrupt him." Tara, Dev's secretary, apologised. "In that case tell him to come to our farmhouse whenever he's done with his meetings," Parvati concluded by ending the call without giving any further information.
At 7 PM when Dev completed his meeting, Tara informed him about Parvati's call, making him panic "Why didn't you inform me 2 hours ago?" Dev shouted out of shock. "But Sir, you told me not to interrupt as this meeting is important for our company!" she explained "Damn with the meeting... Nothing is more important than Parvati for me," he exclaimed while walking towards the garage.
"Sir... Shall I drive?" the driver questioned, "No, give me the keys." Saying that he immediately starts to drive towards their farmhouse at a speed of 120km/hr. Only Dev knew how he was feeling right now. The trauma Parvati has gone through in the past months has flashed in his eyes. His body is sweating even in the full AC car. At present he doesn't care about anything but Parvati's safety.
'What would have happened, she went to the farmhouse? She hadn't been there before. So why? What made her go there? Is she safe?' all these thoughts were running in his mind. The moment he reached the farmhouse he rushed out of the car running into the farmhouse where he found no guards and other maids. When he was about to open the door, it opened by itself making his feet tremble. Making the fear in him increase more. He doesn't want to lose Parvati again.
"Parvati-" Before he could continue to call for her he saw Parvati climbing down the stairs smiling wearing a silk pastel blue churidar. Making him grit his teeth "Have you gone mad Parvati? Do you realise what you did? I was going crazy for you and you are climbing down with a smile?" he said with utter disappointment wiping the sweat from his face.
"I'm sorry..." She whispered with a sad face. "I thought we could spend some alone time," she whispered slowly, making him sigh while fidgeting her fingers. "That's ok Parvati but don't ever dare to pull a stunt like that again. I was on the verge of getting a heart attack " he said with a dry chuckle taking her into a hug.
A few moments into the hug "Wait! What did you say?" he questioned, still hugging her. Hiding her face in his chest "We could spend some alone time" she whispered, making him smile. Breaking the hug "You sure!?" he questioned hiding his smile for which she nodded her head biting her lower lip.
"Now go get freshened. I prepared dinner for us." She said, making him smile. "But-" before he could continue "We have the whole night to talk... Now go, I'm feeling hungry," she said with a pout making him chuckle.
The moment he came out after getting freshened wearing a white colour track suit he found Parvati arranging dishes on the dining table. Seeing him she smiled at him "Come..." she whispered. He didn't observe her when he arrived but she's looking beautiful in that pastel blue suit making his orbs darken. Gulping, he neared the dining area and his nostrils were hit with the aroma of the dishes she cooked.
"Wow... Shrimp scampi pasta, cheesy eggplant parmesan, gnocchi in arrabbiata sauce, cheesy potato casserole. Smells so good." he said while inhaling the good smell of the food, making her smile a little and feeling shy.
All of this is new to her. Both of them. Yes, they both were married. All the chaos and the realisations she had, made her realise what she had been missing. They both used to talk but in a formal way. Nothing more than good morning and good night. 'Wasn't it you who brought all the nonsense into your life?' her inner self mocked making tears pool in her eyes.
For him, it was his dream come true. This is what he wanted. Spending his whole life with her. But nothing went smoothly after their marriage. For the past three months, both of them went through a lot. At one point, he wanted to give up on his love. As tears pooled in his eyes, clearing his throat and controlling his tears "Shall we eat?" he questioned making her come out with her thoughts.
Wiping her tears without his knowledge and when she was about to serve he stopped her "Let me..." he said and started to serve them. All she could do was look at him with tears pooling in her eyes which she tried to control.
Still serving, not knowing about her tears "By the way, you look so beautiful," he said with a smile and looked at her where she silently had tears flowing from her eyes bending her head. Gasping out loud "Parvati... You ok? What happened?" he questioned out of concern.
"Hey... Hey... Come here." he said, making her sit in his lap. She continued to cry, hugging him, and making him panic. Hugging her and caressing her head "It's ok... You can tell me what's bothering you?" he whispered to her.
"You are such an idiot." She whispered, still crying, hiding her face in his neck. "Ok..." he chuckled "Now stop-" before he could continue "Had it been anyone else, they would have left me and gotten married to some other girl," she whispered, making him look at her. "I was blind at that time to not see and feel your love. I don't know when I started to feel for you but I'm guilty of what I did to you." She cried, making him smile at her.
"Parvati... You were right in your place. Nothing is right or wrong in the world. It's just the perception of views. You didn't do anything wrong so you can feel guilty. It's life, not a movie or drama where everything goes perfectly." he said wiping her tears.
"After that incident, I realised what mistake I made in loving him and I'm grateful to you Dev," she said as fresh tears flowed from her eyes. Chuckling at her "Love will never be a mistake Parvati it's the person whom we love. Again I'm saying you haven't done anything wrong by loving him. You have nothing to feel bad about." he continued.
"I never, not even for once, felt bad because of your words on our wedding night. I know under what conditions you married me. I felt bad that I didn't get a chance to tell you about my love before our marriage and didn't get to know what you were going through. I didn't even know till you said on our wedding night that you were forced to marry me. But all of that is over now." He said caressing her cheeks
Taking his face in her palms "I never realised when I grew feeling for you. It's not because you rescued me from everything. Even if that incident didn't happen I would've said the same." she said. Taking a deep breath "I Love You Dev" she whispered looking into his eyes making tears prick in his eyes.
This is the moment he waited for. When it happened he couldn't feel anything around him. His body became numb. Only her 'I love you' was playing a loop in his ears. "Say it once more." He requested "I love you, Dev," she said, wiping his tears.
"Will you mind if I-" she blabbered looking at his eyes and lips. She drew him towards her with her eyes, she inclined her face toward his and pressed her lips on his. For a moment Dev was filled with deep astonishment. His lips felt impossibly soft against her own.
Warmth blossomed in Dev's chest, sparks igniting, as their lips brushed together, tentatively for the first time. The smell of her perfume, the soft peachy scent of her conditioner was dizzying, making butterflies dance in his stomach.
Breathing deeply, she moved away from his lips. Parvati's eyes closed and a tint of shyness filled her cheeks. That moment they realised how close they were. With their arms around each other, she sat in his lap with her chest pressed against his.
Looking at her beautiful face with a shy smile he nudged his nose against hers, and their lips pressed against each other. When Parvati's eyes closed, she wanted to open them. She wanted to get a better look at Dev's dark brown eyes, beautifully crafted eyebrows and freshly bathed crazy hair.
As his plumpy, soft, luscious lips pressed against her, she opened her eyes and found Dev closing his eyes as if he was reliving the moment. As it was her first kiss and his too technically, goosebumps appeared all over their bodies.
Dev's kisses were drawing something out of her with soft little jabs of his chin. Unknowingly she brought her fingers up to his hair. As they both part breathing heavily, attaching their foreheads, closing their eyes "Make me yours Dev" she whispered with a shy smile. "Are you sure?" He questioned for reassurance, making her nod her head.
