Lucy tentatively stepped in Lockwood and her room. Lockwood was reading his new gossip magazines on the bed, content as he could ever be.

"Lockwood?" She asked.

"Yes love?" He replied, looking up.

"There's a huge snowstorm, and I.. I just wanted to ask you if you could hold me when- if there's a-" the lights went out. "Brown out,"

Lockwood chuckled.

"You don't have to ask me for that," he said. "C'mere"

Lucy stepped blindly and tripped over her hat that had fallen onto the floor.

There was a shattering sound.

"Oops," she muttered.

"You okay?" Lockwood asked, concerned.

"I think I broke your Christmas mug."

"Who cares? I can buy another one from the dollar store. How are you, are you hurt?" Lockwood asked. "Need any help?"

Lucy grimaced.

"I'm good," she said tightly as she miraculously made her way to the bed in the complete darkness.

Lockwood put his arms around Lucy and cuddled her.

"Lockwood?" She asked him again.

"Hmm?"

"Tell me a bedtime story," Lucy said, yawning.

"I have a good one, it's one of my favorites," Lockwood said.

"I love your stories," Lucy said sleepily.

"Once upon a time, there was a boy who was bored as he could be. He had a good job, he had enough money and he had a regular life. But he needed a companion aside from his other co-worker friend. So when they hired somebody, it was a breathtaking beautiful girl he knew he had to have. The girl was sarcastic and funny, beautiful and smart all at the same time. He realized that he'd fall in love with her someday. He worked as hard as he could to become more than friends with her, he asked her out on dates and one day, he kissed her. Surprisingly, she kissed him back. Then you know what? He married her, they lived happily ever after. The end."

"But it was a true story. A story about the two of us."

Only light snores came as reply.

"I knew you were asleep," Lockwood whispered in the dark. He pushed back her hair from her face. He petted her head and kissed her forehead gently. "I love you, my darling. More than you ever think."
