Today was a good day, Heeseung thought. His professors had finished the lecture early, he finished his assignments for the week, he got a good laugh at Jake, and the best of it all, he got to see Jiwon. Yeah he sees her most of the time but just seeing her made him feel better. Call him a simp but he really means it.
Now, it was the afternoon and Heeseung, Sunghoon, Jay, and Taehyun headed to the rink. The four had arrived first and waited as more of the players arrived.
"Do you know why Coach Kim called an emergency meeting?" Jinhyuk, a player, asked Heeseung. Shaking his head, Heeseung could only shrug. The last person to enter was their Coach. The team looks around at each other, worried.
"Where's Chaeri, Coach?" Jay asks. Heeseung finally knew why Coach Kim had called for an emergency meeting. During the summer, as the captain, Heeseung wanted to make sure everything was perfect. After some suspicions and digging, Heeseung had found out that their team manager, Jung Chaeri, was stealing funds from the team and leaking info to rival teams. Stepping forward, Heeseung turns towards the team.
"During the summer, I had found out Chaeri was stealing funds from the team and leaking info to our rival teams," Heeseung tells them, multiple gasps erupt, "I told Coach and I'm guessing this is what the meeting is about." Coach Kim nods from behind Heeseung and takes a step forward.
"Jung Chaeri will no longer be manager and is banned from applying to any positions of sports management at HybeU and surrounding universities." Coach Kim declares. Still recovering from shock, the team mumbles among themselves, some quietly cursing the girl out.
"From now on, we will operate without a manager and I will temporarily fill the position until we can find a trusting manager for the team. That is all. Practice tomorrow at 5." Coach Kim finishes. Gesturing for Heeseung to take the lead, Coach Kim leaves the rink. Once he leaves, the team erupts.
"Is it true?"
"What a rat!"
"Ugh, I can't believe I thought she was hot."
"How'd you find out?" Jay's question turned the team's attention to Heeseung.
"Sunghoon told me that he saw Chaeri with the captain of CubeU's hockey team at 10 Months Cafe and so I did some digging around. Apparently, she's been hooking up with players from our rival teams and telling them our strategies in bed." Heeseung explained. With this new information, the team's expression contorts to disgust and anger.
"Alright, now that it's over and she's banned, let's not worry about it!" Heeseung tells the team, "Let's do our best to make the playoffs!" The team yells out a cheer at Heeseung's words.
"You guys can leave. See you tomorrow at practice." With that, they all head out the rink. Walking to his motorcycle, Heeseung gets on it but doesn't put on his helmet.
"You guys can head back first." Heeseung tells Sunghoon, Jay, and Taehyun. They look at one another before turning to Heeseung with raised brows.
"Where are you going?" Taehyun asks from the passenger side of Jay's car.
