THIRD PERSON POV

Narrator {Horikita stared at her reflection, the weight of her decision pressing heavily on her chest. She never imagined herself in this position—lying to the boy she loved, a relationship that was growing more complicated with each passing day.}

Horikita [Why did I do it?]

Narrator {She whispered, her voice trembling with self-doubt.}

Horikita [Why did I lie?]

Narrator {When Yoshida had asked her if she was the one who sent the letter, the words had slipped out before she could stop them. "Yes". A simple word, but one that had changed everything. She had seen the hope in his eyes, the way his expression had softened. In that moment, she couldn't bear to tell him the truth—that she hadn't sent it, that she had no idea who did.}

Horikita [I wanted it to be true]

Narrator {Horikita admitted to herself}

Horikita [I wanted to be the one he was thinking about, the one he wanted to be with.]

Narrator {She had seen the letter as an opportunity—a chance to finally be close to Yoshida, to have something more than just friendship from afar. But now, that decision haunted her. Every time they were together, every time he smiled at her, the guilt gnawed at her insides.}

Horikita [What if he finds out?]

Narrator {The question echoed in her mind, a constant reminder of the lie that had started their "romantic" relationship.}

Horikita [But he's happy]

Narrator {She tried to reassure herself}

Horikita [And I'm happy too, aren't I?]

Narrator {But even as she thought it, the doubt remained. Was it really happiness if it was built on a lie? If he knew the truth—that she hadn't sent the letter, that someone else had—would he look at her the same way? Would he still want to be with her?}

Horikita [I've never felt like this before]

Narrator {She thought, her heart aching at the thought of losing him.}

Horikita [But I can't keep lying. I can't...but I don't know how to tell him the truth without losing him.]

Narrator {Horikita clenched her fists, feeling the sting of her own deception.}

Horikita [What if he never finds out?]

Narrator {She wondered, a small, selfish part of her hoping that the truth could stay buried forever. But she knew that wasn't possible. The truth had a way of coming out, and when it did, it could destroy everything.}

Horikita [I need to figure this out]

Narrator {She told herself, her resolve hardening.}

Horikita [Before it's too late.]

Narrator {But even as she tried to muster the courage, the fear of losing Yoshida—the one person who made her feel special—kept her silent.}

NAGI POV

Me {Alright! Good thing Chiaki got me this costume. I never really celebrated Halloween before, so it should be fun! A knock at the door could be heard. Oh, who could that be? I set the costume on top of my bed and started walking towards the door. I unlocked it and opened it. But no one was there, I looked side to side, but still no one was there. But I remembered how small some of my classmates are, so I looked down, but still no one was here}
