At FBI Headquarters, the higher-ups convened to discuss the Felix Carter case. They called for Inspector Adam Wolfe to report on the investigation. As Adam entered the room, he was met with stern faces and impatient glances.
"How's the case progressing, Inspector?" one of the higher-ups demanded.
Adam, maintaining his composure, responded, "The investigation is ongoing. We're currently lacking concrete evidence, which is making it challenging to advance."
The room erupted with frustration. "Felix Carter is a major figure—an influential researcher with numerous contacts. The public is questioning why the FBI isn't taking this seriously. His disappearance is causing significant concern within the research community, and we need results, fast."
Meanwhile, near Erebus Labs, a family of three found themselves stranded when their car broke down. The father tried unsuccessfully to restart the engine. As he attempted to arrange for a taxi, his young son, Sam, dashed off to explore.
The mother chased after Sam, who, in his playful excitement, had run towards the entrance of Erebus Labs. Sam laughed and ran into the facility, oblivious to the potential danger. His mother, calling after him, followed inside.
As she entered the lab, she was met with a foul odor—something was rotting. She pulled out her phone and turned on the flashlight, searching for her son. The lab was in disarray: old machinery, rusted cogwheels, and blood stains scattered across the floor. Sam, having found something intriguing, called out to his mother.
When she reached him, she saw what he was pointing at: a grotesque, decomposed mass, partially consumed by rodents. Horrified, she screamed and frantically called her husband. Her husband, hearing the panic in her voice, rushed to the lab.
Upon arriving, he quickly realized the gravity of the situation and dialed the police.
Back at FBI Headquarters, Adam was still under scrutiny from his superiors when his phone rang. He answered, "FBI, what's the emergency?"
The caller explained the situation in a rush. Adam, recognizing the urgency, immediately left for Erebus Labs. dwerewdUpon arrival, he began his search for clues. In a cluttered office, he discovered a dusty book on a half-termite-eaten table. Brushing off the dust, he read the name "Felix Carter" on the cover.
Realizing the significance, Adam called for medical assistance. The medics arrived promptly and transported Felix's body to the hospital.
As Henry Carter was discussing piranhas with Serena Blackwood, his phone rang. He answered, his face growing grim. "I need to leave immediately."
Serena, concerned, asked, "What's wrong?"
Henry replied, "They've discovered my brother's location. It's bad news—Felix was found dead in a laboratory."
Serena and Henry, accompanied by Serena's team, went to the hospital where Felix's body had been taken.
