In the dimly lit basement of the old mansion, a towering figure, Zaid, sat on a plush couch, his 6'2" frame exuding an aura of calm authority.

His gaze was fixed intently on the man lying lifeless on the cold ground, his eyes closed, his face a mess of bruises, one leg twisted at an unnatural angle, and hand bones crushed beyond recognition.

Blood flowed freely from his mouth, yet Zaid's face remained a mask of indifference.

"So, tell me, where did you find the audacity to lay your eyes on my girl?" Zaid asked in a voice devoid of emotion, his tone cold and detached.

The man had been in Zaid's custody for a year, subjected to a never-ending cycle of torment and pain.

He had made the grave mistake of trying to talk to Inaya, touch her, and even ask for her number when she went to give her board exams.

Inaya's bodyguards had warned him off, but Zaid had caught him and was now exacting a brutal punishment for his transgression.

"Sir, I'm sorry... I didn't know she was your girl... I'm sorry, please leave me," the man begged, coughing up blood from his mouth as he spoke.

Zaid's expression remained unyielding, his eyes gleaming with a sinister intensity. His smirk rose from the couch like a specter, sending a chill down the spine.

"Kill him," he ordered his guards, his voice dripping with malice. They nodded, their faces impassive, and walked out of the basement to carry out their master's bidding.

Zaid then strode into the mansion, his presence commanding attention.

Steve and Luca stood talking to each other, but they stopped abruptly as they saw Zaid. They watched in silence as he sat down on the couch.

Zaid pov:

"Sir, after one week, ma'am will join university," Steve said, and I nodded my head. He handed me a tab with photos of my little phoenix, Inaya, pranking with the guards. "Bought the university, Steve," I said with a smirk.

"But, sir-" Steve started to protest.

"I don't care, Steve. Bought the whole freaking university. We can kill the principal if needed," I said, my gaze fixed on the tab. Steve looked taken aback.

"But, sir, how can we-" he started again.

I lifted my head, a hint of annoyance in my voice. "I'm a billionaire, Steve. You forget? I think I can handle buying a university."

Steve nodded hastily and left. I called out to Luca, "And Luca, call Shammer and Safiya. They need to come to New York in one week. I don't care where they are in the corner of the world."

"Okay, sir," Luca replied and left.

I put the tab on the couch, and my phone rang. I saw my mom's name flashing on the screen and groaned. "Why is she calling now?" I threw the phone on the couch, but it rang again. "What the...?"

I took baby steps to the couch, reluctant to answer. I slid the green button, and a screaming voice assaulted my ears.

"Where are you, Zaid? Come home, I'll slap you with a jhutti! How dare you go without informing me?"

I sighed heavily. "Maata ji, shant ho jaye. I'm in Italy, I have some work, that's why I came here. And yeah, I'm coming to New York after one week."

My mom's tone turned firm. "Okay, and where is your brother? Why did he go to India?"
