TRIGGER WARNING: angsty Ritzneer AU here!!! And this will also contain a female Veneer, so she'll be called Venessa in this.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

That night had started out so normally, so calmly. So happily.

But the way it ended had been so... terrible.

So horrifying.

Nothing will ever be the same again...

...

Velvet cocked her hip, her lips twisting up in a way that you could tell that she was deep in thought.

"Hmm..." She muttered, tapping her chin. "Which lipstick Ven?" She held up a bright neon pink lipstick, and a blinding bloody red one, I shrugged, not really sure.

She sighed, before walking past me to go and find her wife, Orchid. I turned back to the bathroom mirror, inspecting my reflection, trying to find any possible screw-ups.

That's when I saw Ritz enter the room through the mirror, his purple, jacket-covered arms slid around my waist as his chin purched itself on my shoulder.

"Questioning your beautiful face again?" He asked, a smile sliding across his lips.

"No," I said, smiling back through the mirror, "just making sure I didn't fuck up my eyeshadow again."

"Oh puh-lease," he nuzzled into my neck, kissing my collarbone before saying; "you already look gorgeous without it."

I smiled, closing my eyes and inhaling deeply, a small giggle escaping my throat. "If you say so."

We walked out to the kitchen, Paris was typing something aggressively into her phone, this dopy little smile on her face as she typed, and she giggled quietly as she paused.

"Are you texting Rowan?" I asked slyly.

Her head jolted up as her cheeks grew to be a much darker perple than it already was. "U-um-"

Claire came skipping in from the livingroom door, she glanced at her sister's phone screen and grinned slyly at us. "Heck yeah she is."

"Oh, shut up!" Paris stuffed her phone in her pocket and grumbled under her breath as she headed towards the door. "Aunt Velvet and Orchid took Olivia and Elliot out to the car."

"Alright." I huffed, sipping my water before turning to Ritz. "You ready?"

"Mhm." He smiled. "You?"

"Of course. Lets go! We have a concert to get to!" I laughed.

However, I was not ready for what this night had in store for us all.

Most of the night went by with Connan Grey singing all the songs we loved, and we danced, and denced, and danced the whole entire night away. And we were all in a laughing, joking mood when we were heading out.

Velvet, Orchid, and their kids had headed out a while ago, Velvet saying that she was feeling sick from all of the alcohol.

I'd had Elliot on my hip, Paris on my right, and Claire on my left, with Ritz on Claire's left when the sound of gun shots suddenly filled the air.

Panic built up in my chest as I grabbed Paris' shirt and started running, Ritz pushing a terrified Claire forward as we made a break for the car.

I was about to yaink open the car door when I heard a horrified scream from behind me.

"DADDY!" Claire shrieked, and when I turned around, tears ran down my cheeks, ruining my eyeliner.

Ritz, blood oozing from his back on the pavement, lay on the ground, his eyes were frozen wide, none of the love nor light that had been there this morning left.

I let out a horrified sob as I clenched my hand over my mouth, then pulling my daughter closer to me as I heard distant sirens from police cars.

"Oh God..." My voice was horse, and my throat ached as I clutched onto my babies, Paris opened the car door and we climbed in, Elliot was sobbing into my shirt, his little sweaty five-year-old hands holding onto it for dear life.

We flattened ourselves the best we could against the floor of the car, and soon I heard shouting. Officers yelling things like; "Drop the gun!" or "You're under arrest!"

But the only thing I could think about was my husband bleeding out on the pavement just outside the car.

Then, way too close by, I heard an officer yell for a medic.

I knew they'd seen Ritz's body.

And I knew that he was dead.

After a few moments of listening to all of the shouting, sobbing, and over-all depression, I opened the car door, clutched my little boy close to me, and walked over to where a medic was feeling for a pulse on my husband's wrist.

"He's dead, isn't he." I say, stopping in front of the woman.

The lady pursed her lips, tears forming at her lashline as she nodded, and that tiny spark of hope that had been lit up in my heart got wiped out by a huge wave of freezing arctic sea water.

I looked up and saw Orchid running up with Olivia and her other three children, her face was tear-stricken as she came to a stop at her brother's body, and I watched as her face was washed with even more tears.

"Where's Vels?" I said weakly, but when my sister-in-law looked up at me with grief-stricken eyes I instantly knew.

I was never going to see her again...

Okay tell me the truth y'all...
