chapter 4 - Yuji

that is so embarrassing... I can't believe I actually did that. I took my last mouthful of my dinner before placing my bowl back on my bedside table.
"so... are you excited for our trip?" I asked, hoping to move on from... whatever just happened.
"if I'm being honest with you, I actually am, and I think we all really deserve this." he said with a slight smile. I smiled to; this is one of those rare moments were Fushiguro and I share little smiles together. it always means so much to me, though he doesn't know that.
"hey, Itadori?" he breathed. I looked at him.
"would you consider dying alone to be a proper death?" he asked. that caught me off guard a little. I layed down on my back and looked at the ceiling.
"to be honest, I don't really know what to consider a proper death anymore. maybe a proper death is a death where the truth is told." I said. I looked over to Fushiguro, he looked to be shocked.
"your views on death have definitely changed a lot." he said, looking at me.
"your eyes are beautiful..." I breathed. Fushiguro blushed slightly.
"oh, um. thank you. yours are to." he mumbled that last part. I smiled; I could feel the heat in my cheeks rising. I grabbed my phone to check the time. 9pm.

I sighed. is it really that obvious that I like him?
"what's up?" Fushiguro asked.
"Kugisaki thought we were dating because Gojo Sensei told her that I was clinging to your thigh while I was sleeping earlier." I groaned.
"of course he did." he grumbled.
"it's 9pm, we should probably head to bed. I'll see you in the morning. goodnight Itadori." he waved as he got up and left my room.
"yeah you're right. goodnight Fushiguro!!" I said. after Fushiguro left my room, I sat up and turned off my TV. I grabbed my phone and messaged Kugisaki again.

well that confirms my suspicions, I guess. I put my phone down on my bedside table and rolled over to lay on my left side. it took maybe 1 minute for sleep to take over me.

"ITADORI-KUN~" jesus, who could be screaming at my door at this time of morning.
"what." I groaned as I stretched to get up and see who was at my door.
"it's time to get up! we leave in 30 minutes!" Gojo sensei said. I jumped up at the sound of that and yelled a quick "thanks!" before going to get showered. after I was showered, I quickly threw on a white t-shirt and some black board shorts. I grabbed my suitcase and opened my door. Fushiguro was also just leaving his room. I threw a quick smile and wave over his way, and then rushed down the hall to find Gojo sensei, Kugisaki, and the second years. Fushiguro arrived not too long after me.

"okay guys! we're gonna be taking a train to our destination. but before we head to the train station, does everyone have everything they need?" Gojo sensei asked. everyone said something equivalent to "yes".
"awesome!! Nitta and Ijichi are going to be driving us to the station. Second years are going with Ijichi, you first years and I are going with Nitta."
"okay!!" I exclaimed. I was so excited for this trip, I couldn't wait to spend a whole week with everyone, especially Fushiguro. everyone had gotten into their designated cars. Gojo sensei called Maki and started to explain the plan for this trip.
"so, as you all know, this trip is a week-long trip. the cabins can fit two people, so make sure you choose who you want to stay with for the week. there will be private hot springs there, but it might be too hot to use them. if you still want to use them, make sure you tell me so I can book you guys a session. about 10 minutes away from the place we're staying at, there's an all you can eat buffet, everything has already been paid for, so treat yourself and eat as much as you want." Gojo sensei said. I looked at Fushiguro and mouthed if he wants to be my cabin buddy.
"one, sure. two, you can speak. three, never say cabin buddy ever again or I will punch you." he said. I sulked at that last part. I heard Maki giggle, which caused Kugisaki to giggle. Gojo sensei hung up on Maki as we arrived at the train station. we all got our tickets and found seats near each other. Fushiguro and I sat next to each other, and Maki and Kugisaki sat in front of us, with Fushiguro and Maki on the window side. they were facing us, and there was a little table in between us. the train was still pretty busy even though it was 5 in the morning.
"do you guys wanna play UNO?" I asked. Maki and Kugisaki looked at me as if I just asked the dumbest question ever.
"we're on a train dumbass. the cards are gonna go everywhere." Maki stated matter-of-factly.
"we can play on our phones?" I suggested, since apparently proper UNO is the 'dumbest idea ever'. everyone pulled out their phones and downloaded some Crazy 8 game. we played for about half an hour before Kugisaki and Maki fell asleep.
