Sung-jin was sitting on his desk, his head placed against his arms, his gaze falling on the hallway. The piercing sound of chattering voices were bouncing off the walls, like a never-ending choir. Sung-jin felt a soft tap on his shoulder, bringing him out of his daydreams, and snapped back to reality. The familiar face of his friend, Min-su comes into view, as Sung-jin's gaze met with the eyes of the person who tapped his shoulder. Min-su's facial expression portrayed a sense of urgency and excitement, as if he had something important to share. Min-su spoke, excitement practically radiating of him
"Did you hear there's going to be a new student!"
Despite the enthusiasm in Min-su's voice, Sung-jin didn't seem to reciprocate the same eagerness. His expression remained apathetic as he simply continued to look into the hallway.
"Why don't you care? It could be a new change to life! i know i'm being dramatic, but, who knows what will happen"
Min-su said, smiling from ear to ear. Sung-jin glanced back at Min-su, his gaze seemingly unchanged. He shrugged nonchalantly.
"Change? Unlikely."
He replied curtly, his voice lacking any hint of enthusiasm.
"Same old, same old."
Min-su's joyful expression momentarily dimmed upon hearing Sung-jin's response. He had anticipated a more positive reaction, but his friend's unenthusiastic attitude was disheartening. Their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of the teacher, as the door creaked open, and the teacher entered the classroom. Immediately, a hush fell over the classroom, and the chattering students promptly returned to their seats. The room quieted down as the teacher sauntered in and stood in front of the class. The teacher's presence commanded attention, and the once noisy students were now focused and quiet, listening intently to what the teacher had to say. The teacher cleared their throat, and began addressing the class
"Good morning, class. Today we have an important announcement to make."
A murmur of curiosity and anticipation rippled through the room, and all eyes were on the teacher, eagerly waiting for what they had to share. The teacher paused for a moment, building suspense before continuing,
"As you all know, we have a new student joining us today."
Some students exchanged glances, while others leaned forward in their seats, intrigued by the news. The teacher glanced around the room, ensuring all eyes were on them before continuing,
"Please welcome..."
He gestured towards the door, signaling for the new student to enter. As Yu-jun entered the room, a hush fell over the class. The girls ogled at him, some whispering amongst themselves, while a few boys quietly admired his appearance. Sung-jin, however, didn't show any particular interest, remaining stoic, seemingly unaffected by the new student's presence. Yu-jun glanced around the room, seemingly unfazed by the attention he was receiving. He scanned the room with a cold and expressionless gaze, his face void of any emotion. The room was filled with a mix of awe and intrigue, as everyone waited to find out more about the new student. The teacher turned to Yu-jun, and politely requested
"Please introduce yourself to the class. Tell us your name and a bit about yourself."
Without a hint of emotion, Yu-jun responded, his voice monotone,
"My name is Yu-jun. That's all you need to know."
Yu-jun sauntered towards the back of the classroom, where he proceeded to set his belongings down on the desk. Once settled, he looked up to find the class staring at him, still fascinated by his arrival. However, he maintained his bored and indifferent expression, seemingly uninterested in the attention he was receiving. The teacher cleared their throat, regaining everyone's attention
