JIN POV:
The phone alarm went off at 6 AM. I slowly opened my eyes as the sunlight streamed into the room through the gaps in the curtain. I stretched, feeling my muscles relax, and turned over in bed, staring at the ceiling for a few seconds. Today was the day. I was about to start a new chapter in my life.
I got up slowly and headed to the bathroom. The cold water from the shower helped me wake up completely. After getting out, I put on some comfy clothes and went downstairs to the kitchen, where my mom was already making breakfast.
"Good morning, baby," she said with a warm smile.
"Morning...!" I replied as I sat down at the table.
She looked at me tenderly and placed a cup of coffee in front of me.
"I'm making banana pancakes, your favorite..."
I smiled while sipping the coffee.
"What time does your bus leave?" she asked as she turned to fry the pancake.
"10 AM. As soon as I finish breakfast, I'll get ready and head to the bus station," I replied, checking the bus schedule on my phone.
"Ah, got it... And Yoongi? Is he going to meet you there?" she continued as she brought the plate over to me.
"Yeah," I nodded. "He said he just needs to pick up a document at the university and then he'll meet me at the station."
"I see. Well, I'll take you to the bus station." She came over and gently ruffled my hair, something she always did when she wanted to comfort me. "Oh lord, my boy is growing up," she said, with a tone of pride mixed with a hint of melancholy. "I miss you already..."
"Mom..." I said, somewhat awkward, but I knew what she was feeling. I was going to miss her too.
I finished eating the pancakes, which were as delicious as always, and we got ready to leave. After packing the last of my things into my suitcase, my mom and I headed to the car. The drive to the bus station was quiet but comfortable. We both knew words weren't necessary at that moment.
When we arrived at the bus station, my mom parked the car and helped me get my luggage out of the trunk. We walked over to the boarding area, where there was a light bustle of people saying goodbye to their loved ones. My mom turned to me, her eyes slightly glistening.
"Remember to call as soon as you arrive, okay?" she said, pulling me into a tight hug.
"Don't worry, mom. I'll call as soon as I meet up with Yoongi," I replied, feeling the warmth of her embrace.
She slowly pulled away, giving me one last smile before watching me board the bus.
"I love you, baby. Go get them!"
With a wave and one last look at her, I got on the bus. The driver announced that we'd be departing soon, and I settled into the seat by the window. As the bus pulled out of the station, I looked out the window and saw my mom waving until she disappeared from view.
The trip was smooth. The landscape changed as we got closer to Seoul. The time passed quickly, thanks to a mix of anxiety and excitement that filled me. When we finally arrived at the Seoul bus station, the place was bustling, with people coming and going from all directions. I got off the bus, grabbed my luggage, and looked around while searching for Yoongi.
It didn't take long to spot him. He was standing near a column. "Jin-hyungie!" Yoongi waved, walking over to me.
"Yoongi-ah!" I replied, smiling back. When he got closer, we hugged quickly.
