Chapter 2: Almost There
Priscilla's P.O.V
I woke up in the morning and I saw my mother making herself breakfast. She looked sad. Then I heard my sister coming down the stairs. She looked sloppy and sleepy."Good morning,Mother, I didn't sleep good last night. I was thinking all night of how sad I would be if Priscilla left." She told my mother.
"Good morning.Don't worry, sweetheart, she is just going to university. She will visit us as much as she can. Plus, she dreamed of going to it all the time. Now she has the chance to go. What do you girls want to eat?" She asked us both.
"Don't worry, mother, I'll do my breakfast you sit down and eat yours. Mother you look sad, why?" I asked her.
"I will miss you so much when you leave to university. I know it's your dream to go, but-" I interrupted her.
"I know you two will be sad, I will too, but please keep in mind that when I go to it, don't feel sad. Live your life. Be happy. I will visit you when I can." I told them both.
"Mother, I want pancakes with milk." Petuña said ignoring what I said to her and my mother.
"Okay sweetheart. Are you sure you want to make your own breakfast, Priscilla?" She said, while she started to make the mixture of the pancakes.
"Yeah, mother. I could, thanks." I told her. I wanted to make an egg omelette with some bacon for myself.
"Priscilla, in how many days is there left for you to go to university?" She asked me while I cracked some eggs to make my omelette.
"Only two more days, Petuña. Why are you asking?" I asked her.
"Oh, I am just preparing myself to start crying a lot for that day." She told me and I started to giggle. Then my mother started to laugh and so did my sister. A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. I wonder who it is? I opened the door, and I saw Gloria, one of my best friends from high school. She lived a few houses away from mine.
"Good morning, Mrs. Miller, Petuña, and of course, my bestie, Priscilla." She greeted.
"Good morning, Gloria." My mother, Petuña, and I said in sync.
"I came to invite you to the mall because since Priscilla is going to university in two days we should go shopping at the mall. I heard there are great specials on everything. Do you guys want to go?" She asked us.
"We all do," I said to her. When I said that my mother looked happy and so did Petuña.
"Okay, then let's go." We all entered Gloria's car, she was 19 so she obviously had a car, and drove to the mall.
