~Time Skip~
(Thursday, day before Halloween)

"It was really hard! I mean, I got the lessons and stuff but the test was too hard!" I said as Eren and I walked to Mr. Ackerman's class, the last class of the day today.

"Yeah, I agree. I like Ms. Hanji, she's super cool, but that test was too hard! She should've known we wouldn't be able to get very good scores with a test like that!" Said Eren.
"Well Gwenn, I think you did really good. A 73% isn't that bad."
He said while looking over at me.

"I guess... But still not as good as Armin. He got a 90%! The highest score in the class! He's so smart..." I said.

"Armin is smart, but so are you! Don't worry about it." He said smiling down at me.

We entered Mr. Ackerman's class and sat at our usual spot.

"Alright brats. Don't take anything out. We're taking a pop quiz." He said after the bell rung.

Everyone let out a groan.

Mr. Ackerman passed out the quizzes and everyone started to work.

~a couple of minutes later~

I raised my hand.

"Yes, Hirsch?" He asked, looking up from his paperwork.

"Uh, could you please explain this question...?"

He walked over to my desk. He leaned down. His face only centimeters away.

"Hmm... Well I think I made a mistake there. Instead of being x=25, it should be 24." He said.

"Well... Even so, I still don't get it." I said.

"How about we have a little tutoring session today?" He suggested.

"Oh... Um... Yes, please. I would appreciate it very much sir." I said.

"Alright then, when the bell rings you stay here. We will start when everyone leaves." With that he went back to his desk and announced his mistake. Everyone fixed the question and kept on working.

~minutes later~

*BELL SOUNDS*

"Leave the quizzes on my desk." Said Mr. Ackerman.

Everyone got up and did so.

"Hey Gwenn, why aren't you packing? The bell rung. We can go home." Said Eren.

"Oh... I'm staying back for a bit. Mr. Ackerman said he would explain this question I had trouble with." I said.

"Well, I'm not letting you go home by yourself. I'll be waiting on the bench in front of the school with Armin and Mikasa."

"Alright, thanks. Cya soon."

"Bye." He left and then Mr. Ackerman sat on his seat next to me.

"Alright brat. Which one was it again?"

"T-this one, sir" I said pointing to the math problem.

"Stop stuttering. You sound dumb." He said.

"O-okay... I mean, sorry sir..."

He sighed. "You can call me Levi. It's after school now after all."

"Yes si- I mean Levi."

He explained the question. I tried out some similar questions and I finally got it.

"Are you more comfortable with this question now?" He asked.

"Yeah. Thanks Levi. I thought I would never get it." I sighed with relief.

"Are you coming to the party tomorrow evening, Hirsch?" He asked.

"Uh yeah. Sounds fun." I answered.

"With who?"

"Eren. He asked me."

"Jeager huh?" He looked out the window.

"Do you like him?"

I froze. Why the sudden question?

"Why do you ask?"

"Just wanna know. You guys seem close."

"Well... I don't know. He's really nice and sweet and funny... I really like him as a friend though. That's for sure."

"Oh and Levi, are you coming?"

"Yeah, I'm supposed to chaperone."

"And Hirsch..."

"Call me Gwenn."

"Alright. Gwenn... Oh never mind."

I got closer to him and put my hand on his shoulder.

"You can tell me anything, okay? I would be glad to help" I smiled at him.

He just looked at me. He gave me a little smile back. He then got up and got closer to me. He grabbed me by my arms and pulled me even closer. He leaned in, our lips almost touching. I closed my eyes. Expecting something to happen between us.

But then he, to my surprise, moved to my ear and whispered.

"I'll keep that in mind."

He let go of me and sat at his desk.

"You can go now, tutoring is over."

"R-right." I said trying to get myself together before leaving.

"Thank you again, Levi. See you tomorrow."

"No problem. Bye."

I walked out of the classroom and met up with Eren, Armin, and Mikasa.

"How did it go Gwenn? Did he do anything to you? You seem a little pale. Again. Are you sure he didn't do anything last time?" Said Eren. He grabbed my face and poked my cheeks.

"Umm... First. Could you stop poking my cheeks?"

"Oh um, sorry." he let go.

"Okay and second, I'm fine. The toughness of the question got to me, that's all. He's really nice when you get to spend some time with him..." I answered.

"If you say so..."

We walked home. Tomorrow was Halloween and it was going to be a long day.
