I pull up into the driveway and leap out of the car with joy.

last day if school, check!

"Dad I'm home!" I yell after I shut the front door behind me.

"McKenna! My sweet little girl! How was your day?" He asks with excitement. I raise my eyebrows at this behavior of his.

"Fine... What's up with you" I take out a Pepsi from the fridge and open it.

"What?"

"Why are you acting so weird"

"What? I can't be happy for my daughters last day of 10th grade?"

I roll my eyes "Dad. Really?"

He paused for a second and started smiling again. "Ok you got me. Guess what I have planed for us this summer."

"Hmm" I hummed as I took a sip of my cold drink.

"A two month vacation to Miami Flordia!" My eyes went wide and I started to choke on the liquid going down my throat.

"A what? Wh-why?" I asked after I stopped coughing .

"Because I thought it would be fun and we've never done anything like this."

"What's the catch?" I asked since i knew that this would not be something my father just thought of by himself.

I could see his smile fade and turn into a frown. "I'll have to attend a few meetings with some major cliants."

(My dad is a supervisor for the car company Toyota.)

I nodded in understanding.

"Also it's a free trip. We get to stay in our own 4 bedroom beach house with a water view. And it will only be for two months so you and Nick will still have one month to get ready for the next school year." He promoted.

"And if we don't go?" I ask.

"I stay in my same spot as supervisor. If I do go I have a high chance of a really great promotion."

I rolled my eyes and shrugged my shoulders. "Ok ill go"

"Thanks kiddo, it will be great, I know it." He messed up my straight hair and walked away about to call someone. Probably his boss.

I went to my room and called my best friend Kylie.

"Hello?" I could hear crunching noises through her words.

"What are you eating now?!" I said in shock. Kylie is so lucky! It seems like she can eat whenever and whatever she wants and she will not gain a single ounce!

She giggled "chips"

I rolled my eyes. "Guess what"

"Huh?"

"I'm going to Flordia"

"Shut up!"

I shrugged before realizing that she couldn't see me. "Yeah. It's for dads work"

"You're so lucky! I've never even been out of Texas."

"Me eather, it's my first time"

She did a little fake laugh "ok well I need to go. Me and Derek are going to go eat." (Derek is Kylie's boyfriend)

I rolled my eyes. "How can someone as small as you eat so much?"

She just laughed. "I dunno. Blessed I guess. Bye."
