=AEVERIE=
I sat on my desk smiling to myself while sketching a memory of the time I spent on the roof of that tower nights ago. Watching the stars lasted a good two hours, though I think neither of us was keeping track of time. I knew, both of us weren't particularly eager to return home, or perhaps just me. More so me...
There had been a pleasant silence between us as we stood there side by side, stargazing. That evening had been an eye-opener for me, for sure. But of what, it still is unclear. Although I really enjoyed the brief but open exchange with the king and realizing how thoughtful he really was.
But the stirring in my heart never ceased. I knew I had to do something about it sooner or later but I felt scared of even considering what I think it really is. I was then brought back to that time, years ago, when I first met the dashing elven king of the woodland realm.
I was a young, vibrant and spirited seventeen year old. A flowering bud that has just started to blossom. I remembered walking out into our beautiful courtyard and seeing the magnificent beauty of a giant golden elk standing in the middle. It was such a surreal moment, I even thought I was dreaming. I remembered approaching the magnificent creature very carefully and gently caressing its giant horn.
That was when my father, king Edric of Willowmere, called out to me and I spun around to look at him, only to be awestruck by the taller man walking beside him. The long haired man looked more majestic than the giant golden elk I just saw. When father smiled down on me, I was already staring wide eyed at the man beside him.
'Do you like the elk?' father asked me, rather amused.
'Yes, its so majestic.' I remembered answering.
'It is, it is the elven king's elk, king Thranduil of the woodland realm.' father said and looked towards the tall elven king looking down at me.
I remembered how my young heart skipped a beat at the sight of his beautiful, dashing face. I felt my stomach clench as I reached out to him, wanting to touch his hair. He took my hand and brought it close to his chest.
'It's wonderful to meet you princess Aeverie..' king Thranduil's voice shook me to the core. It was so deep and overwhelming.
'You're so beautiful...' I blurted out in my amazement.
It brought a smile to the elven king's face. 'So are you my dear princess.'
That day awakened something in me... I felt something blossomed inside of me.
I shook my head from the memory. I was just too young then, naive and so much vulnerable. Maybe even thinking the elven king was a magical creature of some sort. But I am not seventeen anymore, i'm an adult woman now, a twenty four year old woman with a sane mind and mature intellect and is capable of logic. So why can't I explain what is happening to me now then?
'Aaarrrgghh!!' I lashed out in desperation. This can't be... oh my.
