=AEVERIE=

IT feels like no time has passed when Freya came rushing inside my room with other elven maids, carrying clothes and shoes of different colors and styles. I stared with mouth opened at the gifts being laid down on my bed. And when everything is set on the bed, the other elven maids left bowing their heads to me.

It took me a moment to finally speak. 'Uh-Freya? What are-'

'Days ago, the king has instructed his elven maids to taylor clothes and make shoes for you dear princess.'

My eyes grow wider with each second I stare at the array of clothes that king Thranduil has given me. Robes and gowns of fine silks and fabrics, with some even glistening with stardusts of gold and silver.

'These---these are all for me?' I asked innocently. Staring down at the clothes laid down on my bed.

Freya looked upon me with delight. 'Yes princess. The king personally requested to give you the finest of gowns and robes to wear. Is everything to your liking?'

'Yes, they are so beautiful Freya!'

My shocked expression turned into delight as I brushed my fingers on one of the gowns. It's soft silk slipping through my fingers. Memories of my mother came rushing in and it was already too late when I realized my eyes were fogged with tears again. My mother, beautiful and elegant as she was, always gave me the finest gifts. I've always been spoiled by my mother even if I only wanted the simplest of things. She would always say to me then, 'These gifts are all worthy of you my love and they will forever be yours until the time will come when me and your father will leave this Earth. It will remind you of me, of us. So keep it, as a token of my love for you my dear daughter.'

Teardrops fall on the fabric of the gown I was holding. The thought of my mother's gifts to me, all burned to ashes back in Willowmere. Nothing left to remember her by. It pains me to think about it.

'Princess?' Freya gently called.

Freya's gentle voice came through to me and I hastily wiped the tears on my face.

I stood up straight and continued wiping the tears that were still streaming down my cheeks.

'I'm sorry---I just-'

'It's okay princess... Would you like to pick out something you'd like to wear for the party?' Freya asked.

I snorted and gave out a cute chuckle. 'Will you help me?'

Freya's eyes brightened as she giddily started to examine the clothes on the bed to my amazement.
