Booby Trap

I took a shower, did my hygiene, and did my edges since I still had my braids in.

I started to pick out my outfit when my mom came in my room.

"Hey" I said smiling at her
"Hey babe. What you doing today?" She asked as she sat on my bed
"Me and Cj going to grab something to eat. Then im going to Sahara house tonight" I said

My mom looked at me with a "girl bye" smirk  on her face

"What?" I asked

"Girl you ain gotta lie to me, I know you not going no where but over Mr. Cj Hutton house tonight" she said raising her eyebrow

"I— and how do you know his full name?!" I asked with my hand on my hip

"You don't think I do research on who my daughter finna be around?" She said

I just shook my head. My mom worked for a law firm as an attorney so she had access to all kinds of software to do a background check on someone.

"But it's all good I understand, just make sure you keep your location on Mi. And I don't want no grandkids anytime soon you hear me?" She said

"Mom stop I'm saving myself for marriage" I lied

Ms Nina laughed. "Yea right, remember I was 20 at one point too" she said

I just looked at her shaking my head as I ironed my clothes.

My mom's phone started to ring. "Oop this my man gotta go!" She said as she stood up walking out of the room. "And he said answer the phone when he call you!" She added referring to my dad.

I put my outfit on, packed my spend a night bag and soon after got a text from Cj saying he was outside.

I walked out to his car and got inside.

"Wassup bae" he said pulling me into a hug
"Hey." I said
"What's wrong witchu?" He asked
"Nothing." I answered

I wanted to tell him about how he made me feel but I didn't feel like talking or explaining myself.

"Who is Messiah?" I asked

"Who? Oh one of the folks I know from the spot. He my brother patna. He set up our security and shit in the spot. He work for Google or sum shit I think. Why?" He asked looking at me as he drove

"Just asking." I said

Cj turned the music up as Street Runner by Rod Wave played.

🎶 "She say I love you , but don't trust you, can't change you." Cj sang occasionally glancing over at me

This was one of my favorite songs by Rod wave but I wasn't in the mood to sing with him.

"I just hope we don't end how they do crash and burn on the shaderoom" he looked over at my grabbing my face to face him

He turned the volume down

"You look good ma" he said making me blush

I moved my face away from his grasp.

"I'm sorry Mi I just thought you was lying bout the website shit. I just always had hoes lying to me about lil shit. You smart as hell for real though. I'm proud of you." He said

"Thank you." I said back simply

He grabbed my face again and leaned over quickly placing a kiss on my lips.

I turned the volume back up, wanting to hear the rest of the song.

🎶 "I'm in your city tonight, and these lights, make me feel so inspireddd" I sung and he sung along with me. We listened to Rod Wave the entire ride.
