It's been 2 weeks since we arrived in Australia and so far it's been great. Mum has got a job and I started at my new school. At my new school, there are a lot of people there. Mum's job is at the mental health centre, she is a clinical psychologist for teens and she loves her new job so much.

This morning when I was walking down the street that Mum liked, I saw a 3-bedroom house for sale. Once the school day was finished I went to the house, called the real estate agent and put an offer on the house in Mum's name.

The next day I got a call from the real estate agent saying the offer was accepted and we needed to pay them in less than 2 weeks or the next person would get it. When I got home I told Mum about it and she was excited, so we got all our money put it together and got enough to pay for it all. The week after we paid we could move in so we got all our stuff and unpacked the furniture first.

That night we slept the best we ever did but on Saturday morning Mum got a call from her work. They said “If you don't submit the notes from the Stanley case by tomorrow she will get fired instantly!” but all the notes from each session are private and is illegal to share them with anyone else without permission from the patient. Mum got sad and didn’t hand over the paper notes, so she lost her job. Mum was sad so I suggested that she try to sue them for breach of contract with the client and therapist.

Mum decided that was a bad idea and she would just find a new job. The next week me and mum went to shop for new clothes and found a bakery that Mum said we should go to when we have time. I looked inside and there was a really cute boy working at the till she looked at me and I looked away. I was so embarrassed I ran away as quickly as I could.

Mum said she needed to get some birthday presents for me because my birthday is in a week. So I just went home and looked for part-time jobs. The jobs I looked at are mostly at food places and some places called Kmart. So I applied to all of them and once I was finished applying I realised that one of the places was the place with the boy I stared at. It was a couple of days until I got my first response. It was a rejection email! I was upset but there were many more places that I applied to at least one of them would take my right. The next 2 days I got 4 more rejection emails but I just kept going to school and having fun. When it turned Friday I got my first email saying I got the job but there were still 2 other places I applied to so I waited to say yes to them.

My birthday was only 3 days away and I was so excited about it. This birthday I turn 17 so it’s very exciting. Mum was very secretive about what she had planned so I hope it’s not big. When I was lying in bed I got an email from the bakery with the boy, I got the job! I did not want to work in the other places so in the morning I accepted the job. It’s a nice bakery and the job is just working at the till, that is the type of job I had in the UK before I moved here. They called me the next day to say when my first day was and what to wear when I went there. I was excited to get the job and I hoped that the cute boy would be there on the same day. After the call, I decided to ask Mum if I could just take the bus to my new job but would still take photos for her and she said “Yeah NO I am your mother I will always follow you to your new jobs to take a photo of you on your first day, give me the time and date and ill get a car before then!” I was disappointed but I still went with what she said because she sounded kind of sad, “ok mum I will send you the time and date for you. But tomorrow we go for our Australian driver’s license so be ready by 9:30 am.” I said “ok ill set an alarm for 7:00 on my phone now.

I got to go see your principal in a minute if you want to come home early on your birthday with your friends,” Mum said happily. I went for a walk down to the park and I saw THE boy. I was so awkward and I decided to hide in the closest bush. He walked past and saw me “Hi I'm Logan I saw you a couple of days ago walking past my parent’s bakery, it kind of looked like you were staring at me.” he said looking cute, “oh no I was not staring I was looking inside, I am actually starting work there in 3 weeks!” I said trying to hide the fact I was looking at him and not the bakery. He was impressed and said “Me and my brother both show the new people around i will make sure that you don’t get stuck with him. He is a complete ASS HOLE!” “Thanks, I don’t have any siblings so I don't know what it’s like.” I replied to him he did a small chuckle and said “Lucky! Would you like to exchange numbers?” I was surprised “Sure that would be great! I mean you can tell me more about work before I get there!” I said awkwardly while he laughed. He is so cute and I kind of like like him.

We talked for a bit while walking around the park and both of us love going on the swings even though we are teenagers. I didn’t know how old he was, so I asked him “Hay what school do you go to?” I don't know why I asked about the school it just made a bigger conversation, “well I graduated last year” he said, that means that he is 18! “Wait so you’re 18!” I said “No I graduated when I was 16 and now I am 17,” he said “Oh sorry, that’s cool you must be really smart then” I replied while I was still shocked “yea I guess I am. What year are you?” he asked me “well I am in year 11 now, so I graduate at the end of next year.” I said to him while staring into his blue eyes, watching his light brown hair flow in the wind while going up and down on the swing. I think I might be in love he is so cute and I can’t wait for him to show me around my new job.
