The surrounding were resonating with the natural sunlight, the fresh air was running, leaves and branches of trees were moving slowly in the air, the lake were making it's own rhythm, chirping of birds were making the environment ethereal and peaceful.
Amidst this, a boy was sitting under a big mango tree with a book in his hand, he was cladded in navy blue kurta with white pajama, the sleeves of Kurta were folded till his elbow.
"Radhika paid pe chadh ke kyu baithi ho, neeche utro gir jaogi" Devesh said sternly without breaking the his eye contact from book but concern was evident in his voice.
["Radhika, why are you sitting on the tree? Get down, you will fall."]
"Master ji pehle aap hamare sawal ke jabab dijiye kyu hamari maa ghar se bahar nahi nikalti aur hum bhi chup ke aate hai padhne jab baapu ji ghar pe nahi hote" Radhika asked in her sweet honey coated voice, her voice filled with curiosity and confusion.
["Master ji, first please answer our question why our mother does not come out of the house and we also come quietly to study when Bapu ji is not at home."]
"Hamara samaj aisa hi hai Radhika aurton ko tijori ya kisi kimti vastu ki tarah sambhal ke rakha jata hai per unhe samaj ek insaan ki tarah nahi rakhta" Devesh said, his face was showing disappointment for the society.
["Our society is like this Radhika, women are kept safe like a safe or some precious object but the society does not keep them like a human being."]
"per ye to galat hai na aur agar aurtein kimti vastu hai to hamare ghar ke samne wale Kaka apni patni ko maarte kyu hai kyuki hamari maa to kimti cheezon ko bhot sambhal ke rakhti hai" Radhika questioned again.
Devesh closed the book he was reading and putted it aside and looked up toward Radhika, she was sitting on a branch of the Mango tree with both the legs hanging down and she was rolling a leaf with her hand.
She had wore a green top till her waist and a skirt of white colour, hair braided and hanging on her back till her waist and a small black bindi adoring between eyebrows.
"Han ye sab galat hai," Devesh said and sighed "Aur jo tumahre Kaka karte hai wo paap hai, aurton pe haath uthana sabse bada paap hota hai"
["Yes, all this is wrong," Devesh said and sighed, "And what your uncle does is a sin, raising hands on women is the biggest sin.""]
"To kya Kaka paapi hai?" Radhika asked innocently.
["Is kaka a sinful person?"]
Devesh nodded and moved his head from her to the lake infront of him. The wave of river waving freedomly, the air flowing without any care. What if women in his village also had this kind of privilege.
"Papiyon ko toh saza milti hai fir toh unhe bhi milni chahiye saza paap karne ke liye?" Radhika asked in full curiosity. Her innocent soul filled with so much question, the girl who wanted to ask people questions about their beliefs.
["Sinners are punished, then they should also be punished for committing sins?"]
"Hamara samaj abhi prushpardhan samaj hai, yaha purush apne aap ko sabse upper maante hai jab aurtein apne adhikaron ke baare mai janegi aur apne haq ke liye ladengi, tab unhe roke wale maedon ko aurtein Mata shakti ka rup le ke unke paapon ke liye saja dengi" Devesh said, his voice had hope someday this would happen.
["Our society is still a Prashpardhaan society, where men consider themselves supreme when they will know about their rights and will fight for their rights, but the men who stop them will be punished for their sins in the form of Mother Shakti. "]
Radhika gazed at him in confusion as her mind was not able to posses the heavy words like purushpradhan and adhikar.
Devesh stared at her confused face and smiled, "Jab tumhari umar hogi ye sab samjhne ki tab tum khud samjha jaogi"
["When you are old enough to understand all this then you will understand yourself"]
Radhika nodded and plucked a raw mango and ate it as it was so sour so her face shrunk.
"Jao ghar, tumhare baba ke aane ka time ho gya hai" Devesh said as it was getting late, the brightness was blanketing itself as a darkness.
["Go home your father must have arrived"]
Radhika whined but she knew that if her father get to know she was outside at this late she would be quarantine in her home for forever.
Devesh also stood up from his place and sweep up his kurta to remove the dust. He gazed up and signaled Radhika to some down, but instead of carefully climbing down from trees she jumped from the branch and fall on him.
They both stumble and Devesh's back kiss the floor, Radhika was on top of him.
Radhika's eyes were closed, Devesh expression was painful as his back hit the floor harshly.
Radhika opened her eyes and saw her Master ji's was hurt so she tried to get up quickly but her hair get entangled in his kurta's button, she hissed in pain as her hair pulled.
Devesh glared at her for jumping like this, what if he was not there, she could have hurt herself.
Radhika gazed at him innocently to prevent herself from scolding. Devesh shook his head and helped her hair to unravel.
Devesh was unravelling her hair, they were so close to each other, and laying on the floor. Devesh was so engrossed in his work that he didn't noticed someone was seeing them.
"iss ladki ne hamari ijjat mitti mai mila di, hum kahin muh dikhaane layek nahi rahe" a mourning voice echoed in air with some whispering as people started gathering to see the scene in front of them.
["This girl has ruined our honor, we are no longer worthy of showing our face anywhere"]
