Trigger Warning: Strong foul words.

Thirty-Seven

AFTER A SERIES of persuasions and apologies, Warren had finally got the Sakuras to forgive him and trust him again. Warren swore that he would never do it again and would make up for his mistake with the opportunity granted to him.

However, Warren knows his words for the Sakuras lack genuineness since if he were to find himself in the same situation, he would never hesitate to drop everything so he could tend to David's needs.

David would always be Warren's main concern.

With all the things that happened to David for the past two weeks, Warren thought he deserved to have a good long rest. However, David was known to be stubborn as a mule, so he was against the idea at first.

It's already eleven in the morning.

"I wonder if he's awake already... Did he eat the lunch I made for him?"

Warren was mulling over the idea of calling David or not. He doesn't want to disturb David if he's still sleeping at this moment—that would've contradicted what Warren wanted for David, which is a beautiful sleep.

"But I wanted to know if he had already eaten," mahinang bulong niya sa hangin.

I want to hear his voice. Napapikit si Warren sa kanyang naisip. Fuck, when did I become so obsessed with him? I have never acted like this in my past relationships.

I swear to God, David knows some voodoo shit. I think I was bewitched by that man.

Hehe... Did he miss me? I knew it. I knew David couldn't get enough of me.

Yet all hope was lost when Warren saw that it wasn't David.

The call was from one of his private investigators. Warren hired three people to investigate Paul Garilla, and they would bring the evidence Warren needs to override Garilla's parole.

Warren cleared his throat before he tapped the accept button. He pressed the phone to his ear.

"Good morning, Mr. Summers."

"A pleasant morning to you too, Jonathan." Warren's voice was impassive but polite. "I suppose you're calling me because you have found the evidence that I need, correct?"

"Uh, not quite, sir. We have yet to find proof that will incriminate Garilla." Jonathan's tone was careful. It was clear that he doesn't want to get on Warren's bad side.
