Age: 11Over the past week, Zero has become a regular presence in our home. I find myself drawn to him, not just because of his striking appearance but also because of the way he carries himself. He’s kind and patient, always making time to chat with me, and he has this way of making me feel special, like I’m the most important person in the room.
I’ve even started looking forward to seeing him in the mornings and evenings. He helps Daddy with chores and sometimes even reads me bedtime stories. Zero’s warmth and attentiveness are a comforting escape from the usual routine, and as much as I try to understand the adult problems he’s dealing with, I can’t help but be intrigued by him.
One evening, as I was finishing up my homework, Zero came into the living room and sat down next to me. “Need any help with that?” he asked with a gentle smile.
I nodded and watched as he patiently helped me with a particularly tough math problem. His presence felt like a shield against the loneliness that had started to creep in since his arrival. Zero isn’t just a guest; he’s starting to feel like a part of my world. And while I don’t fully understand the complexities of his situation, I do know that he’s becoming someone very important to me.
