"What are we doing at your need school?!" I said angrily. "bot-fight's that way," I pointed to the direction my brother was driving away from. You might need more context than I'm giving right now.
My name is Hiro Hamada. I'm fourteen years old, I graduated high school early, and I love to fight. Right now, my big brother is supposed to be driving me to a bot fight across town, even though we just got arrested for it. But now, he's taking me to his school for nerds. Just to let you know, we weren't arrested for bot-fighting. We were arrested for betting on bot-fighting. Well, I was. He came in and saved me, and the police just assumed he was there all along. I'm getting off-topic here.
"Gotta grab something." My brother said. His name is Tadashi. He gave me the whole spiel that I should be using my brain for more than just scamming people in bot fights. Anyway, we were walking down the hall as I complained.
"Is this gonna take long?" I asked.
"Relax, you big big baby, we'll be in and out," he said. "Anyway, you haven't seen my lab," he added.
"Oh, great, I get to see your nerd lab," I said sarcastically. Just then, as I entered the lab, I only got a warning as someone rode a bike right past me and almost hit me.
The person does a stoppie on their bike and racks the bike up. As they walked away, they took a wheel off like it was no big deal and threw it back in place like nothing had happened. I walked toward the bike to examine it, and as I was, I took a good look around and saw all these people working on something different. Robot arms playing ping-pong, a cat on remote control jet boots, a person on a robot that goes up the stairs. Back at the bike, both wheels looked as if they were floating off of the body of the bike. I realize that this was electro-mag suspension. I was taken out of my amazement by the rider as they, or rather, she had a helmet on.
"Hey," I jumped. "Who are you?" she asked. I tried to answer, but I was stumbling on my words. Luckily, Tadashi was there.
"GoGo, this is my brother, Hiro," he said. She took off the helmet and revealed a Korean girl with short hair that had purple streaks. She then pops a bubble with the gum that she had in her mouth.
"Welcome to the nerd lab," she said. I laughed awkwardly.
"I've never seen electro-mag suspension on a bike before," I said, but as she barely turned the pedal, the wheel was spinning faster than I thought it would.
"Zero Resistance, faster bike," she explained. "But, not fast enough," she said as she threw one of the wheels into a recycling bin, which had a bunch of other wheels in it. "yet," she added and walked off. I then heard what sounded like electrical arcing coming from another room. I followed it and saw an African-American male fiddling with a set of blue tubes. As I got closer, he put his hand in front of him.
"Oh! Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Do not move. Behind the line, please." He warned. I looked down and saw the like that I had promptly stood behind.
"Hey, Wasabi. This is my brother, Hiro," Tadashi explained
"Hello, Hiro. Prepare to be amazed." He said. "Catch," he told me, as he took an apple and threw it between the set of blue tubes. The apple then split into paper-thin pieces.
"Wow," I said. He then twisted a knob and what was between the blue tubes was now visible. "Laser-induced plasma?" I had asked, and he agreed.
"With a little magnetic confinement for, uh, ultra-precision." I saw him put back a tool that he was using onto a table with a bunch of different tools in designated outlines. even his keys and coffee mug had designated areas.
"Wow. How do you find anything in this mess?" I asked ironically as I picked up a magnifying glass.
"I have a system. There's a place for everything, and everything's in its place," he said.
