Chapter 2: Meatballs

Aiah's POV

Okay, binabawi ko na pala, she looked good on the outside but totoo nga ang balita, she really has the attitude.

When she came in the office, she sat on her chair, inspected me from head to toe, took a file with her, and then left without any word. Great, just great.

I don't know why pero hindi rin ako nakaimik, I was at loss for words. Siguro I'll just have to wait here.

I sat sa sofa then I roamed my eyes around the office then saw the nameplate on her table, so Ms. CEO's name is Mikhaela Janna J. Lim.

After a few minutes, another woman came with a lot of stuff in her hands, I rushed to her to help her carry some of them.

"Naku, thank you Ms. Aiah."
"Have a seat please."

"First of all, I'm Christine Lim. I mean just got married, Cruz na pala ako. I'm LM's muse, charot." Natawa ako, I think she's lightening up the mood and making me feel at ease.

"I run errands for the Lims and I directly report to Mr. Lim, the chairman of the company. I'm always here sa office rin kaya if you need anything you can let me know." she handed me her calling card.

"Your seat will be here." while she showed me san ako pupwesto. "And these are all your stuffs. I'll ask JC to connect with you later for the laptop. I guess you got your pass and ID sa lobby kanina."

Medyo hawig sila ni Ms. Lim, pretty rin, obviously they are related pero compared kay Ms. CEO mukhang mas mabait ito and approachable. I think ahead siya ng ilang years sa'kin.

"By the way did you meet Ms. Lim?"

"Yes po ma'am. But she left agad."

"Yes nandito lang yun sa tabi tabi. Expect her to be back soon."

"So Ms. Aiah, I'll be direct to the point, Ms. Lim is tough... Sorry, super tough, pag ayaw niya yung trabaho mo. Madali lang naman yun i-please, basta be patient lang. If may masabi man siya sayong hurtful, you know the drill." she signaled na pasok sa left ear then labas sa right ear.

"Naku ma'am. Sanay po tayo jan. Feeling ko na manhid ako sa previous work ko."

"I saw your resume rin, seven years walang alisan, I guess you're patient. Kaya I guess you're perfect for the job."

So, she briefed me about the company, what they do, and the sectors under them. Partners pala daw ang Lim and Mendoza clans kaya LM. Then lastly, she listed me my job and responsibilities. Okay naman lahat and most of them are my expertise already, except sa I'm expected to be with her most of the time sa business trips niya in or out of the country kasi that's when I'm most especially needed.

Julalay ang peg mo gurl. No wonder malaki sahod eh. Plus, I wonder if okay sa kanya yung ganung setup?

Before Ms. Christine left, nagpahabol pa siya "Mikha has her soft sides and you're lucky if she allows you to see them. She's my cousin by the way, I've been with her since she was born kaya I know her." I don't know if she's just trying to comfort me pero somehow I felt at ease. Personally kasi, nanininiwala rin naman ako that every person has their soft sides. So let's see, na challenge tuloy ako bigla.

As Ms. Tine said, Ms. CEO came back just exactly when she was about to leave.

"Good morning Ms. Lim." Ms Tine greeted her, grabe ang formal nila ha?

"Not a good morning." Ms. Lim answered..

"Why?"

"Wala daw meatballs sa cafeteria." she sounded casual and calm?? Nagkatinginan kami ni Ms. Tine. Nagpipigil siya ng tawa. Medyo napangiti rin ako, did she leave to eat?
