They decided to head back to the car.
It was clear the demodogs were heading elsewhere and that just meant the group had to move too.
"You're positive that was Dart?" Lucas raised a brow at Dustin.
"Yes, he had the same yellow pattern on his butt." Dustin insisted.
"He was tiny two days ago." Max shook her head.
"Well, he's molted three times already." Dustin sighed.
"Malted?" Steve frowned.
"Molted. Means he shed his skin to make room for growth, like snakes." Dylan explained from where she walked between Dustin and Aiden.
"When's he gonna molt again?" Aiden asked.
"It's gotta be soon. When he does he'll be fully grown or close to it." Dustin said.
"Yeah, and he'll be eating more than just cats," Steve muttered bitterly, Lucas stopped walking and pulled Dustin to the side.
"Wait cat? Dart ate a cat? " Lucas demanded. Dylan and Aiden exchanged looks as Dustin shook his head nervously.
"What? No, he didn't."
"What are you talking about? He ate Mews." Steve frowned confused, Dylan sighed.
"Mews? Who Mews?" Max asked.
"Dustin and Dylan's cat," Steve answered.
"Steve!" Dylan sighed as Lucas whirled towards Dustin, his gaze angry.
"I knew it! You kept him!" Lucas seethed, poking Dustin's chest as he said it.
"No! No, I- I - he missed me! He wanted to come home." Dustin sighed as he failed to lie.
"Bullshit!" Lucas exclaimed.
"I didn't know he was a Demogorgon okay?" Dustin protested.
"Oh so now you admit it?" Lucas sneered.
"Guys who cares, we have to go." Max pleaded.
"I care! He put the party in jeopardy, you broke the rule of law!" Lucas glared.
"SO DID YOU!" Dustin yelled.
"What?"
"You told a stranger the truth." Dustin scowled gesturing at Max.
"A stranger?" Max scoffed offended.
"You wanted to tell her too!" Lucas said.
"Yeah, but I didn't Lucas! I didn't! We both broke the rule of law so we're even, we're even okay!"
"No! We're not even, don't even try that! Your stupid pet could've eaten us for dinner!"
"That's not my fault!"
"Hey guys..." Steve called warily from where he, Dylan, and Aiden had wandered slightly off to get a better listen of a sound in the distance.
"Oh, so he was just crawling to come say hello?"
"GUYS!" The three older teens yelled and the three kids immediately fell silent. The three older teens exchanged glances immediately.y set off toward the strange noise they heard, Dustin and Lucas immediately followed after.
"No no no, hey guys why are you headed towards the sound?" Max groaned.
The deeper the group traveled into the forest, the louder the noise got. Still, they never got a glimpse of a Demogorgon anywhere.
