Chapter 6

School finished in a blur and before i knew it i was in my car and driving towards Zee's. I was suppose to drive with Chase but i declined by telling him that i have my car with me so i would just meet up with him there. I parked my black BMW M3, locked it and walked into the coffee shop.

As soon as i walked in i started to relax. The surroundings were all too familiar and homely. Alexis was busy making coffee so she never saw me come in. I spotted Chase at a table by the window at the back. He waved me over when he looked up towards me. I walked over and took the seat across from him.

"I'm so glad you could make it" Chase said beaming at me.

"Yeah me too. I'm sorry for bailing on you yesterday" i gave him a small smile.

"It's cool, as long as you didn't bail on me today" he said jokingly with a grin.

"Sammy where were you this morning? I had to drink your cold cappuccino and i was worried about you" Alexis said when she came to our table.

"Lex I'm so sorry. I overslept this morning so i didn't have time but i came now so that makes up for this morning" i said with a smile.

"Whatever. What would you like?"

"My usual with a blueberry muffin" i smiled at her and she just shaked her head at me.

"And what would you like?"

"I'll have a caramel cappuccino with a blueberry muffin please" he said with a smile. Alexis laughed, gave me a knowing look and then walked away.

"Did i miss something?" Chase asked confused.

"No it's just that we have the exact same order" i clarified with an amused smile.

"We do?"

"Yeah my usual is a caramel cappuccino" i smiled at him and then we sat there in silence for a few moments.

"Here are your orders" Lex announced.

"Thanks" we said together.

"Don't take this as a pick up line but do you come here often?" he asked with a wry smile

I let out a short giggle before answering "yes i do. I come here every morning before school" i said.

"Well they have amazing cappuccinos'" he said while sipping on his cappuccino.

"I know right?" i laughed.

"So what's the deal with you and Zack?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well why was he trying to sit next to you in class and why does he stare at you like you're the last drink in the desert? I saw him looking at you during lunch but you fell asleep" he said with a smile that didn't touch his eyes.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. The only reason why i talk to Zack is because his my best friend's step brother"

"Good"

We spoke for a couple more minutes about school and a party that was coming up Friday night. It was a back to school type of party and Chase offered to take me. I agreed to go with him and then he paid the bill and we left.

"I didn't want to say anything but they charged us for only one cappuccino and one muffin" Chase said once we were outside.

"I can get anything here for free because of a favour i did for Lex a few months ago" i told him.
