The apkallu gathered around Indiana Jones, whispering among themselves.

"If the woman escaped - what is he going to do?"

"What if he's like the other Treasure Guardian? The one who we thought we killed?"

"Where is the seventh sword? We need to make sure this one is ended."

Suddenly one of the apkallu screeched as Lizavet dropped into the circle they'd made around Indiana Jones. Emily and Shorty were with her - all carrying the mystical swords.

Edo-apkallu stammered back, seeing four of the seven swords. His apkallu only had two. The seventh one was missing. Indiana Jones was supposed to be the one who brought it back. The legend claimed whoever found the first sword of Diya had to gather the others in order to gain the most power.

Edo pointed at Indy with his stolen sword of Diya. "I knew you wouldn't leave him behind."

"Damn right," Emily snarled.

"We came back to the fulfill the prophecy!" Lizavet declared.

"To kill you!" Shorty cried swinging his sword in a threat.

One of the apkallu laughed - until the sword sliced him across the chest, and Lizavet's sword stabbed the creature's heart.

"That's... that's not supposed to happen..." one of the apkallu hesitated, watching one of it own die.

"The prophecy?" An apkallu stammered, looking at Edo. "What do they know?"

"What prophecy?" Echoed another apkallu. "What have you not spoken of?"

The apkallu in Edo's ninja bodies moved into a slightly wider circle.

"Yes. The prophecy," Lizavet held both her swords, one in front of her, one like a saber above her head. "Or did you forget of the women who wielded the original Seven Swords of Diya?"

"But we killed them."

The circle was widening around the altar, the apkallu giving ground at Shorty, Lizavet and Emily protected Indy.

"Not all of them," Lizavet replied. "I am a descendant. You knew this when you tortured my dreams!"

An apkallu lunged forward, trying to stab her in the back. Shorty leapt forward with a kick, protecting Lizavet. His kick hit the apkallu in the chest and he slashed open the humanized apkallu with his sword.

The sword sliced open the creature's heart.

The earth trembled.

Shorty grabbed the heart from the humanized apkallu and threw it toward the rising fiery chasm.

There was a roar from below.

Terror struck the humanized apkallu's faces.

Emily grinned through her pain. "The devourer of souls is going to eat well today."

"The... devourer of souls?" Edo-apkallu stammered.

"Yes," Emily answered. "And you should meet her!"
