Lizavet held her ground against the apkallu - the blood drenched swords above her head.
Shorty stood over Indy, protecting the man he'd claimed as a father decades ago.
Emily held two swords - one closer to her still bleeding side - preparing to stab whatever came close to them.
The apkallu were staring at the corpse of the recently killed apkallu stunned.
Then the four remaining apkallu looked toward their embodied leader, Edo-apkallu. "What else are you not speaking of?"
"Kill them and we'll have the swords for ourselves!" Edo-apkallu pointed at the three who dared stand against him.
An apkallu charged Lizavet. She sliced it across the throat.
"Why aren't you afraid?" The apkallu gargled, choking in its own blood.
Lizavet grinned. "You trained me through the dreams."
The spirit slipped from the the human body. Lizavet threw her sword.
The sword pinned the spirit to the wall.
Leaping from the altar Lizavet took her second sword and stabbed it into the apkallu's heart, ripping it downward. Furiously she reached into the spiritual realm and took the apkallu's soul in a motion similar to Mola Ram from the Temple of Doom.
Gripping the creature of the unseen realm she snarled out a command to the other shocked apkallu.
"Can she do that?" One of the apkallu asked their leader Edo-apkallu.
Edo-apkallu stood dumbfounded. "No one has done that. Ever. Not since King Solomon -"
Lizavet looked at the spirit gripped in her hand. "There have been many evils entombed in your eyes - but never again." Then she made a shaman motion.
"NO!" Shorty jumped forward. "LIZAVET!"
