Chapter One

"No. I will-no SHALL not." I refused immediately, raising my hand out as if to end the conversation. I kept my other hand down for fear of dropping my phone. I was very clumsy for my age and I'd rather not break my phone into a million pieces, which may be exaggerating a bit but still.

"Please? Oh come on, it won't be that bad!" Felicity reasoned.

I rolled my eyes, shivering a bit. Our school unfortunately ends at 6:00 PM, and I swear, it gets colder and colder every night. My trench coat was doing nothing to keep me warm, and Felicity's pestering talk wasn't helping either. It was a cloudy night, enhancing the chill as we crossed the lawn in front of our school, bits of mud sticking to our shoes that will take forever to be removed. I glanced down, scraping a bit of mud off the top of my shoe, "How would you know that?"

"I just do."

"Nope, not good enough."

"C'mon! You could meet Logan Lerman, or Zac Efron!"

"Not interested."

"Not even Greyson Chance?? Austin Mahone? ONE DIRECTION? Don't make me fly blind here I know you like them."

"Have fun thinking that." I rolled my eyes, ignoring the faint leap of excitement as One Direction was said. So maybe I liked them a teeny bit, so what? I wouldn't have a chance meeting them anyway.

"Oh yeah, I'll have fun thinking that next to the piles of posters under your bed."

My cheeks burned, "You wouldn't know that."

"Wouldn't I? Mimi, you should seriously consider locking your window when you sleep."

"Oh shut up." I muttered, "You creepy stalker."

She winked, laughing, "You love me."

Since I'm kind of a loner, Felicity's basically considered my only friend in my school. She had long, black hair, occasionally wore glasses, but most of the time, she had contacts on. She's not exactly tall, but she's like a giant compared to me. Her head is always stuck in a book, and her house is practically a library. She's already 19 and I'm still turning 18 in a few weeks time. Whoopie.

"So what happened to you liking The Wanted anyway? You know you're really putting all that money spent on posters and CD's to waste." I quickly changed the topic.

"Ehm they're cute but not as perfect as the boys."

I nodded understandingly. The great twitter fight between Zouis and The Wanted had been talked about for ages now and many had moved from liking The Wanted to 1D.

"Another reason why I know you like 1D I mean c'mon how can you know I was referring to them and not some other boys?"

"It was obvious." I said quickly, "when you have a school full of crazy fans you kind of hear a lot of things."

"If you say so." She grinned. Damn. I thought I got away.

See its hard hiding a big secret from your best and only friend. Friends tend to snoop around for answers, knowing you wouldn't be bothered, protected on the fact that your friendship is strong and nothing would come between you. But see, I've had different secrets. Secrets not meant to be shared for fear of being brought into the spotlight. That may be an exaggeration but it's possible and I'd rather no one knew.

"So anyway, are you joining?" Felicity asked suddenly.

I considered my options, join and have my privacy ruined forever or continue living life normally but boring? The answer was pretty clear.

I took a deep breath, "What do I have to do."

She squealed, "YES! Nothing because I did everything for you!"
