Back in the Hidden Leaf, before a certain ravenhead decided to pop up out of the blue and turn her world upside down again, Sakura was used to a structured and organised day.

She would wake up really early for work, make herself a healthy breakfast and drink a hot tea on her balcony. Sakura loved watching the sun rise, feeling a slight breeze blowing through her hair...

It was the perfect start of a day for her.

Now that she was travelling with Sasuke, however, her entire being was a disoriented mess. No clear schedules, lack of sleep... and of course; missing routines. They were spending their entire time travelling together, and even though Sakura loved it, it was taking a toll on her.

The Haruno was sprawled out on her and Sasuke's futon, snoring softly as her limbs dangled off the edges and rested on the wooden floor. Her pink hair stuck out in all directions, and her nightgown was soaked in sweat. She looked like a mess.

Last evening, Sasuke needed to multitask the entirety of their rather short walk to the nearest hostel of the Hidden Waterfalls. His girlfriend kept stumbling and whining, her feet feeling like jelly, while he needed to make sure she didn't fall over. Meanwhile, he was also doing his best to find the quickest way to the hostel, knowing that she would soon cause a scene if he didn't.

Upon being assigned to their room, Sasuke convinced the grumpy pinkette to change before going to sleep, trying to make her understand that she would be thankful in the morning. Luckily, she agreed. But as soon as their tired bodies hit the comfortable mattress of their futon, they dozed off in a matter of seconds.

For some reason, Sasuke woke up early in the morning though. He made sure to be extra quiet as he stood up, stretching a bit and yawning softly. His tired expression lit up a bit at the sight of his sleeping girlfriend, a faint smile forming on his face. He decided to let her sleep, knowing how tired she had been.

Thus, the Uchiha spent the morning by himself, sitting on their chambers' balcony and sipping on his tea. Sakura had insisted on bringing some of it from home, so he decided to try it. The morning air was fresh, and the village was quiet as Sasuke admired the view over the gigantic waterfalls and breathtaking landscape.

Sasuke had been so lost in thought that he didn't notice his grumbling girlfriend approaching, slumping over to him and falling into his lap. His dark eyes widened at the sudden impact, and his breath hitched softly. But her adorable face, which was scrunched up from sleep, and her messy hair made him feel calm again.

"Morning," the Uchiha spoke in a low tone, his voice raspy from sleep. Sakura mumbled something incoherent and buried her face into his neck, trying to hide from the rays of sunshine. Sasuke began to stroke her hair ever so gently after having set his empty cup aside, trying to tame the messy strands and curls.

Sasuke was happy to have someone want to be genuinely close to him. He wouldn't have ever thought that he would even crave this connection himself, and even less that Sakura would be willing to give it to him after everything he had done. But she loved him anyway.

His slender fingers were combing through her pink mane, and Sasuke could feel her lips curve into a smile against his neck. His heart started to race a bit, but it felt fuller than ever.

"Sleep well?" the Uchiha asked quietly, trying to start a conversation. He had learned that talking was healthy, that it actually helped relationships bloom. It was still hard for him sometimes, but Sasuke was definitely doing his best.

His girlfriend nodded a bit, not in the mood to talk yet. He chuckled lowly, shaking his head at her adorable antics. He turned his head and placed a small kiss on her cheek, feeling her nuzzle even deeper into his neck.
