A while ago, I found myself sitting in a coffeeshop. Having my usual cup of coffee while I took the time to catch up on my thoughts. I realized that things were about to change for me. I happened to find myself standing on a crossroad in my mind, one that would change my life in a lot of ways. What do I want from my life from now on? It inspired me to write the different options down. I noticed while I wrote it down, that we all meet with different crossroads all our lifes. Some are easy to cross and some much harder.
"What happens when you find yourself on a new crossroad?"
The situation might bring a lot of new emotions. Maybe you feel releaved or perhaps you feel lost, maybe even a bit angry. A lot of choices are waiting to be made and each choice will lead to a new situation. There are many different ways to handle a situation like this. Some will take their time and debate on which road to take. Others might go for the savest road and some might prefer to take the challenging road. There is never a good or a bad, because every road will lead to a new destination. Some might be exactly what you were looking for, while others might not be what you thought of it at all. But one thing is always the same, no matter what road you have chosen to take.
"You will have to learn to appreciate every day that has been given to you."
Many of you reading this might start to question that saying. How can you appreciate every day, when there are days that have nothing good to offer. And this is where our challenge begins. Every day has good and bad. It is all about your own perspective into different situations. When you learn to appreciate the every day things and dare to look at situations from another perspective, life becomes so much more beautiful.
For example, when you look outside and see the dark rain clouds and the rain making big puddles of water on the streets. You can think to yourself: 'How terrible, I will have to walk trough this horrible weather. I don't want to get wet.' Or you choose to admire what beauty it brings. 'Do you see that reflection in the water puddles? And that amazing smell and calming sound the rain brings? Do you see how much calmer it is in the streets?'
We all tend to forget about the positive, because the negative emotions weight more on us. We are all too busy with our everyday life, so we take no time to realize what beauty is out there.
Come with me to an adventure filled with beauty and positivity, combined with some thoughts to cross your mind. This book is not written to teach you how to live your life. But it might give you a new perspective and otherwise perhaps just a way to kill time.
