It is a dark and foggy night as several Beacon County Sheriff's Department deputies pull up to the Beacon Hills Preserve in their police cruisers. At least a dozen officers get out of their vehicles, some with K9 unit dogs who are barking and whimpering amongst the radio chatter. Flashlights in hand, the deputies begin their search in the woods
MCCALL HOUSE
Gina McCall is sitting on the couch watching tv, wearing her sleeping shorts and a small tank top. She pushes her glasses up her nose when she hears a noise coming from outside. She stands up and walks up to the door heading out on the porch
Gina: Stiles, what the hell are you doing?
Stiles: Climbing to your brother's window. What it's look like?
Gina: Use the door like a normal person, idiot
Stiles: This is way more fun.
Gina rolls her eyes and heads back into the house.
SCOTT'S ROOM
Scott McCall is sitting on his bed in his room, wearing only a pair of gym shorts, as he re-threads the laces on his lacrosse stick.
He tosses the stick on his bed before walking toward the bathroom door, where he has a bar mounted on the lintel. After doing a series of chin-ups, Scott goes into the bathroom, where he brushes his teeth and washes his face before bed
Suddenly, he hears a noise outside and pauses to listen for danger.
Gina stands up from the couch seeing her brother walking outside with a wooden baseball bat in hand.
Suddenly, a figure appears hanging from the roof, and Scott yelps in terror, almost hitting the person in the face with his bat until he realizes that it is Stiles who is yelping just as loudly
Scott and Stiles: AHH! AHHH! AHHHH!
Scott: Stiles, what the hell are you doing?!
Stiles: You weren't answering your phone! Why do you have a bat?
Scott: [annoyed] I thought you were a predator!
Stiles: A pre... Wha?
Gina walks out of the house as Scott lowers the bat
Stiles: Look, I know it's late, but you gotta hear this. I saw my dad leave twenty minutes ago. Dispatch called-- they're bringing in every officer from the Beacon Department, and even state police.
Gina: What for?
Scott: For what?
Stiles: Two joggers found a body in the woods.
Reaching up to pull himself free of the trellis, he lands on his feet in front of them, who looks confused
Scott: What, a dead body?
Stiles reaches up and leans on the railing to look at them at eye-level with a sarcastic expression
Stiles: No, a body of water.
He rolls his eyes
Stiles: Yes, dumbass, a dead body!
Scott and Gina looks unnerved as Stiles climbs over the railing to join them on the porch
Gina: You mean, like, murdered?
Stiles: Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her twenties.
Scott: Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?
Stiles: That's the best part-- they only found half. We're going.
