Mackenzie's POV
I lie on my bed, feeling like I have no worries in the world, and I don't have any plans. Although I feel that's how many people feel in mid sleep. I feel a jolt of energy make me jump awake as soon as I hear the phone radar alarm. As I rise awake, I look towards my kids and they slowly rise awake too. I feel a leg kick me, and I look towards Bluey.
Bluey: For God's sake, turn the alarm off Kenz.
Mackenzie: I know. *I turn it off*
Elijah: Alright, alright. I'm up. *quickly gets up*
Charlotte: Ok. *rises up, yawning*
Olivia: Can I just have five more minutes?
Mackenzie: Sure sweetie, but then you'll miss out on our trip and you'll be left here alone for seven whole hours.
Olivia: That works for me.
Mackenzie: Yeah, yeah. *grabs her hand* Come on out the bed.
I pull her up out of the bed and force everyone to get ready despite their moping around. We go to the car and spend a bit driving until we find the sky start turning a gorgeous red orange color. I pull to the side of the road and we end up taking a couple pictures of the sunrise and we make our way to Mount Denali National Park. We step out and get in line to get our tickets checked for the bus ride through the whole park. We find our way to the bus and take our seats.
Bluey: Wow, so that's Mount McKinley?
Mackenzie: Well, actually it's no longer called Mount McKinnley.
Bluey: That's not what I asked, smartass.
Mackenzie: Yeah, that's Mount Denali.
Elijah: Where is it?
Mackenzie: *points* Over there.
Olivia: What's special about Mount Denali?
Mackenzie: This is the tallest mountain in North America.
Olivia: oh, nice. But why did mum call it Mount McKinley?
Mackenzie: Well, there were native people who lived near the mountain and they were called "Dena." Almost fifty years ago, they requested to rename it from Mount McKinley to Mount Denali because it has stuck around with them for the longest time. And it was officially renamed to Mount Denali.
Elijah: Wow.
Bluey: ... You looked that up last night, right?
Mackenzie: Yes, I did.
We take off on the bus and over an hour passes by just driving around.
Elijah: When will we see something exciting?
Mackenzie: I don't know.
Bluey: Well I guess there's a lot of green...
Olivia: ... and blue...
Elijah: ...
Charlotte: ...
Bluey: ... What the hell is taking so long?!
Mackenzie: Wow, and I thought one of the children would be the first one to snap.
A woman comes on the speaker.
Speaker Lady: Can the heeler in row 12 please sit down and quit yelling? You're freaking everybody out.
Charlotte: Mommy, you're making the speaker lady mad.
Elijah: She's pissing her off pretty well.
Speaker Lady: And if you look on the right, you will see a band of mountain goats.
