Pnb rock played loud on the speaker beacuse Deuce was already wide awake, his mind racing with plans for the day. At seventeen, he was no stranger to the hustle, and today he was about to pull off something legendary with his best friend, J-Roc. They had been scheming all week, and the excitement buzzed in the air..

"Yo, you ready for this?" Deuce asked, adjusting the strap of his backpack as they approached Walmart, its bright blue facade gleaming in the morning light.

"Man, we're about to be legends!" J-Roc replied, a grin spreading across his face. He was always the one with the wild ideas, and today was no different.

"Let's just keep it cool," Deuce warned, eyeing the entrance. "We're just two normal kids buying a video game, right?"

"Right! Normal kids who are about to get the best game of the year for free!" J-Roc laughed, slapping Deuce on the back as they pushed through the automatic doors.

Inside, the store was a maze of colorful displays and the faint scent of popcorn wafting from the snack aisle. They casually strolled past the electronics section, pretending to browse the latest gadgets while keeping their eyes peeled for the prize. There it was—the shiny cover of "2k26" gleamed from its spot on the shelf, calling out to them like they favorite song.

"Alright, you grab it while I keep watch," Deuce whispered, his heart pounding with a mix of adrenaline and fear.

J-Roc nodded, his eyes looking around. He reached out, snatching the game off the shelf and stuffing it into his backpack with the grace of a ninja. Deuce couldn't help but snicker as he watched a lady nearby glance in their direction, her brow furrowed in suspicion.

"Hey, what if she saw us?" J-Roc joked, his voice rising a pitch. "What if she's a secret agent sent to catch thieves?"

"Right! Next thing you know, she's calling the cops, saying, 'Two kids in hoodies just stole a game!'" Deuce laughed, making exaggerated hand gestures as he mimicked the lady on the phone.

They shared a moment of laughter, but it was cut short when Deuce caught sight of a store employee eyeing them suspiciously. "Alright, we gotta bounce. Now!"

They turned on their heels, making a beeline for the exit. Just as they reached the sliding doors, they heard the unmistakable sound of a voice behind them.

"Hey! You two! Stop!"

Deuce's stomach dropped. "Run!" he shouted, and they bolted out of the store, adrenaline pumping through their veins.

Outside, they sprinted down the parking lot, dodging shopping carts and bewildered customers. "I can't believe we actually did that!" J-Roc wheezed, glancing back to see if they were being followed.

"Yeah, but we're not out of the woods yet!" Deuce replied, spotting a squad car pulling into the lot, lights flashing like a disco party.

"Cops!" J-Roc exclaimed, his eyes wide. "This is like a scene from an action movie!"

"More like a comedy!" Deuce shot back, laughing despite the panic rising in his chest. They dashed behind a row of parked cars, their hearts racing, and the thrill of the chase sending waves of energy through them.

"Quick, the alley!" Deuce pointed, leading the way. They ducked into a narrow space between two buildings, panting heavily.

"Do you think they saw us?" J-Roc gasped, leaning against the wall, trying to catch his breath.

"Only if they have eyes," Deuce grinned. "And if they do, we're about to become the most wanted video game thieves in Chicago!"

Just then, they heard the sound of footsteps behind them. The boys exchanged a look of panic. "We gotta go!" J-Roc said, and they took off running again, their laughter echoing in the alley as they zigzagged through the maze of buildings.

As they sprinted, Deuce couldn't help but think how ridiculous this all was. They were just two kids trying to have some fun, but now they were being chased by the police like they were criminals on the run. They ducked under a low-hanging awning, narrowly avoiding a light pole, and burst onto the street.

"Left!" J-Roc shouted, and they dashed into the next alley, their legs pumping as they darted around corners, the sound of sirens fading behind them.

"Think they'll give us a medal for this?" Deuce joked, a wild grin plastered across his face.

"Only if we catch it on camera!" J-Roc laughed, his eyes sparkling with exhilaration.

After what felt like an eternity, they finally slowed down, panting and leaning against a wall to catch their breath. The sounds of the city filled the air around them, but the sirens had vanished.

"Did we really just get away with that?" J-Roc asked, disbelief etched on his face.

"Yeah, we did!" Deuce replied, holding up the backpack triumphantly. "And we got the game!"

They both erupted into laughter, the thrill of the chase still coursing through their veins. They had faced down the odds and come out on top, and nothing could ruin this moment.

"Let's go home and play this thing," Deuce said, slapping J-Roc on the back. "We might just be the kings of the block after today."
