After Jeonghan and Joshua left, Mingyu remained silent, lost in thought as he tried to process the implications of the proposed marriage.
Wonwoo spoke up, suggesting, "It might be a better idea than we think. This union could bring stability and prevent further conflicts."
Jihoon nodded in agreement, adding, "It could strengthen our position and create lasting peace. But if misoo isn't reay we can't force her."
Meanwhile, Minghao stared into space, his thoughts clearly troubled. Mi Soo’s gaze followed him. The room was filled with differing opinions, but the emotional undercurrent between Mi Soo and Minghao remained palpable.
As Mi Soo stood to leave, Mingyu gave Minghao a firm directive.
“Minghao, from now on, you’ll be in charge of her safety.”
“Yes, Your Majesty,” Minghao replied, trying to mask his turmoil.
“And Jun,” Mingyu continued, “you’ll handle Chan’s safety.”
Jun nodded in agreement.
Mi Soo exited the palace with Minghao following her. Instead of heading to her chambers, she walked out into the night, eventually arriving at the same spot they had visited together the previous evening.
Standing there, facing Minghao, Mi Soo’s voice trembled with emotion. “I can’t marry him, Minghao. I don’t want this. I’m scared and confused, and I can’t imagine my life with anyone else but you.” Mi Soo said, holding Minghao’s hand tightly. “I—I love you, Minghao. I love you…”
Minghao slowly pulled his hand back, his expression filled with pain. “You shouldn’t love me, Princess. We aren't meant to be”
“Why? Why can’t I?” she asked, tears welling up in her eyes. “Tell me, Minghao. Do you love me? Tell me!”
Tears streamed down her face as she spoke, her heartache evident. Minghao’s own heart ached as he watched her cry. He wanted to comfort her, to tell her everything would be alright, but he knew that their love, no matter how deep, was overshadowed by duty and circumstance.
He wanted to shout yes, to hold her close and confess his love, but the reality of their situation crushed him. “No,” he said quietly, his voice breaking. “I don’t love you, Princess.”
Mi Soo’s heart shattered at his words. She stepped back, her face pale and eyes brimming with tears.
“Okay,” she whispered, turning away. She walked off into the night, not noticing the tears streaming down Minghao’s face, each drop a testament to a love that could never be..he said to himself. "I don't love you princess......but i live for you ..and if I can't have you this life is useless."
Despite his feelings, Minghao understood the harsh reality: their futures were diverging, and they could not be together as they wished. The pain in his chest was overwhelming, but he also knew that sometimes love is all they need.

The next day, King Mingyu and King Seungcheol sat across from each other, engaged in a strategic game similar to chess, a popular pastime among royalty. The air was tense as they played, their moves reflecting the seriousness of their discussion.
Seungcheol finally broke the silence. “What’s your decision regarding the marriage proposal?”
Mingyu made his move on the board and responded, “I can’t agree to the proposal. Mi Soo is someone I cherish deeply. I would never trade her for any political gain.”
