chapter five; the stars

━━━━

IT HAD BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE yours and katsuki's conversation that night in his apartment, and you hadn't seen him since. you assumed it was to do with the semester becoming more busy and your schedules becoming more full. you didn't think that it would be him actively avoiding you.

you wouldn't be surprised if he was avoiding you though, when you were out on your balcony he normally stood on his smoking but ever since that night you haven't seen him there either. but you didn't know what you did that night to make him avoid you

though you wouldn't admit it out loud, you had spent every night awake in bed picking apart your conversation in every possible way you could, trying to find something, anything, that showed that you had made him uncomfortable in the slightest way. but, you found nothing, after hours and hours of over analysing and reading between the lines, you conversation with the blonde male seemed normal.

and this frustrated you to no end, all you wanted to at every moment of the day was go next door and make him talk to you, make him answer your questions, because you had finally gotten a friend away from home and you'd be damned if you lost his friendship now.

you sighed, suddenly more irritated by the incessant ringing of your phone, you picked it up from the kitchen counter where you stood and looked at the contact you saw it was your mother, immediately some of your irritation disappeared as you answered, smiling softly at your mother's excited greeting.

"hey mama, how are you?" you asked, moving from your kitchen and into your living room where you made yourself comfortable on your couch, your coffee in hand

"im alright, i just miss you, you know, how are things that side? make any friends?" she asked, making you sigh

immediately her tone shifted into one of worry when she asked how were things on your side again, and you knew that you would tell her, because who better to tell than the lady that brought you into this world?

"well," you started, proceeding to tell your mother everything that had happened so far

you sighed as you entered your apartment for what seemed the millionth time that day. you were exhausted, to say the least. the conversation you had with your mother played on your mind on repeat.

after you explained your situation to her she agreed with you, it didn't seem like you did anything to make him avoid you, and then she gave you advice, which you were so grateful for. she told you to go to him with a gentler approach, because from what you explained to her, he seemed like he didn't have a proper way of coping with his emotions.
