Sitting down at the dining table, Sally was having pancakes with her parents before school. Her dad was starting his first day at work.
Her mother was also getting a job at the local library, and Sally knew that soon they'd probably make her get a job soon. It would not be good.
Sally chewed on her pancakes as they all sat in silence. She hated mornings like this.
On the outside her parents played a happy couple who amazingly adopted a child. But they weren't. They barely acknowledged each other, they had alot of pent to resentment to each other.
"Okay, it's time to go. Come on sweetheart." Tim told Sally. Sally grabbed her bag, straightening her long sleeved shirt. "Bye D."
"Bye lovey." Darla smiled, giving him a kiss.
"Gross." Sally stated, stopping herself from rubbing her eyes as she had some make up on.
"You'll have this one day." Darla waved the girl off, she scoffed.
"Hope not." Sally replied quietly so only she could hear.
She followed her dad to the car, jumping in the front seat, she adjusted her beanie.
"I'm not gonna be able to take you everyday as theyve asked me to come in earlier." Tim told her and Sally felt her heart drop. Now she had to walk. Alone.
"Okay." Sally mumbled.
After five minutes, Sally got out of the car immediately and headed to her locker. She opened it up, grabbing a maths book. She also hated maths and was not excited.
"Hi mouse." Tate appeared and Sally gave a small wave.
"Hi." She muttered.
"Maths?" Tate asked and she nodded. "Let's go."

After class Sally had a free period but Tate had physics. So Sally sat in the outside area, listening to her music. She was also smoking a cigarette Tate had given her, and she had gotten used to the smoke in her lungs.
"Hey Freak!" A voice yelled and Sally felt her body stiffen. It was Minnie and beside her was another girl with shorter hair.
"You know smoking kills right?" Minnie scoffed, Sally looked up and crossed her fingers. "Aww is little freak depressed? Why don't you talk?"
"Yeah it's super freaky." The other girl, dragging out her words.
Sally clenched her fist, standing up to walk past them, counting in her head to calm down.
Ignore them and they'll go away. She repeated this like a mantra.
Minnie pushed the girls shoulder back to stop her from walking away, Sally stumbling back slightly and she gulped in nervousness.
