"I cannot believe you made me come with you to do this." Dawson monotonously directed at Hayden.Hayden was currently in a tattoo chair getting inked up by his go-to tattoo artist. She had a nice shop in the middle of the city, near Hayden's apartment. He was always getting new additions, so they had become quite fond of each other.
"Yeah, well I was hoping this would encourage you to step out of your bubble." Hayden looked over to the blonde man, who was eyeing the art that was displayed on the walls.
Dawson really liked the art style of the artist Hayden took him to. He was lightening up to the idea of a tattoo, not like he hadn't thought about getting one before.
Hayden already had tattoos here and there on his body, but now he was getting an addition to his sleeve. It wasn't anything crazy, just some floral detailing around one of his dagger tattoos on his forearm.
"So, what are you thinking?" Hayden pushed the older, curious as to what he would decide.
Dawson traced his eyes back to a beautiful lotus design on the wall. Though it was floral, it had a masculine feel to it, and it would fit a good portion of his upper arm. Dawson always admired the perfection of a lotus flower.
"This one," He pointed, then patted his upper right arm, "Right here."
Hayden and the artist smiled to each other at the choice, almost like they expected him to pick it.
"I'm finishing up with him, I'll get that stencil going in a sec for ya." The artist told Dawson, who nodded and waited patiently.
When it was Dawsons turn, he sat down and let her get to work. It didn't hurt too bad, so he was able to relax. Nobody was really talking, surprisingly enough. Hayden was either sitting on his phone or admiring the artwork plastered over his entire body in the mirrors around the shop.
After an hour, Hayden decided to check the progress of Dawsons tattoo. His eyes widened at the intricate design.
"Wow, that looks amazing..." He admired. He then got to thinking, "Did you know that my name I go by is also a flower?"
Dawson looked up at him as if he were stupid, "Yes, Hayden. Aster is a flower."
Hayden crossed his arms, offended, "I just thought it was cool." He looked to the side with a pout, "Dahlia is also a flower name."
Dawson deadpanned, "Yes, I know. What is your point?"
"It's like a flower theme with all of us!" Hayden exclaimed, frustrated at Dawson's lack of reaction.
"Hayden, there is no 'all of us'. She's not a part of this."
"Yet." Hayden murmured. He had a gut feeling about it. "You should make a flower name, too. Using your real name is bad if we get popular."
Dawsons eyes sharpened and he quickly glanced over to the tattoo artist, then back to Hayden, as if telling him to stop airing their business.
"She already knows I do that stuff, dude. Take a chill pill." Hayden said with annoyance. "I just made a suggestion."
"I'll think about it."
Dawson and Hayden then sat in silence for the rest of the appointment, both in their heads.
Hayden really did have a gut feeling about Christie. He knows her work is dangerous and it's very likely she will need them to help if she grows to be popular, and they could get the same help from her. It would just be a matter of time before they knew for sure if it would happen.
