Aurora's pov

"Roman wait!" I yelled sprinting behind him.
Damien grabbed my arm stopping me.
"Give him sometime, what he needs right now is some space, Aurora"

"Let her go Damien!" Cade demanded shooting him an icy glare.
"She's his mate, she's the only one that can calm him down"
Damien huffed letting go of my arm.
"Becarful he doesn't hurt you" He warned.

"He would never hurt me!" I gritted out getting annoyed with Damien. Why is he stopping me from going after my mate?
I rushed out the door and began following his scent, leading all the way to the woods.

I haltered when I saw him leaning against a huge oak tree with his hands shoved into his pockets staring blankly at the ground.

"What are you doing here Aurora?" His voice low and husky. His gaze still lingered on the ground.

"I couldn't let you leave knowing how furious you are I said taking a step closer to him.

He let out a dark chuckle braking his gaze from the ground and staring at me. "Why? Are you afraid I might kill someone?"
Yes and I think I might know who that person is. I sighed.

You shouldn't have followed me, you know it's dangerous out here!
"I'm not afraid of these woods and I have you to protect me" I smiled crossing my arms.

He mirrored my smile and pulled me to his chest.

"I will always protect you with my life no matter what" He purred kissing the top of my head.

I let out a sigh tearing myself away from his arms and gazing into his beautiful icy blue orbs.

He sighs running his hand through his hair and turns around with his back facing me.

You're going to hate me for the things I've done. I'm not a good person Aurora, I'm a monster, a ruthless monster.

I step in front of him, tilting his chin so that he's looking directly into my eyes.
"Roman, whatever it is you can tell me. I'm your mate remember?" I say, my voice low and soft.

He let's out a humorless chuckle.
"Once I'm done telling you I'm sure you would hate me more than you already do right now."

"Is that what you think? That I hate you? Maybe I did but not anymore."
I cup his face in my hands and bring it closer to mine our lips almost touching.
"I love you and I always will!" I announced.

He stares at me flabbergasted. His eyes go wide. I can hear the sound of his heart race.

A huge smile slowly appears on his face. "Did I hear right? He smirked
Raising a brow. You love me, a monster?"
"Of course I do and you're not a monster!" I smiled.

"My beautiful little mate. He cooes tucking my hair behind my ear. You have no idea how excited I am by hearing you say those words. I love you too Aurora and I always will." He says and then captures my lips with his.

He pulls away leaning his forehead against mine.
" I will tell you everything Aurora but
I need you to promise me something?"
" Anything." I whispered.

He let's out a sigh backing away from me." I need you to promise me that once I reveal my secret you won't be mad at me? You won't hate me or think of me as a savage beast?"

" I promise whatever it is I won't judge you nor would I be mad." I assured him.

He nodded plopping down on the ground.
" When I turned eighteen I met my first mate she was from my pack. I was thrilled just like any other he wolves when they found their mate but my happiness didn't last too long."
