The low hum of chatter and the occasional clatter of beer cans echoed through the frat house. The guys were doing their usual get together with a couple of friends and enjoying the playback of their recent win with a couple of beers. Heeseung however, barely paid attention to anything. He laid sprawled across the couch in the living room, staring at the ceiling like it held the answers to his problems. Outside, the crisp fall air rustled the golden leaves on the trees, but inside, the mood was anything but light. Two days had passed since Heeseung's last visit to the bridge where he and Jiwon shared a beautiful moment. Two days since he's seen Jiwon. Heeseung was losing it. On the other couch, Sunghoon stared at Heeseung with a scowl on his lips at the many sighs Heeseung had let out. Sunghoon was going to lose it if Heeseung lets out any more sighs.
"Dude, you've got to snap out of it," Jay groans, tossing a pillow in Heeseung's direction. "It's been, what, two days?" You act like she moved to another country."
Heeseung lets out a long, exaggerated sigh, dramatically covering his face with his arm. "Two days is basically a lifetime." Sunghoon rolled his eyes, slumping into the couch. Beomgyu comes over with a beer in his hand and plops down next to Sunghoon.
"Are you moping because you haven't seen your secret girlfriend?" Beomgyu asks, taking a sip of his beer. Jungwon and Sunoo walk over from the kitchen.
"Jiwon-noona has been really busy." Jungwon says, chiming in. Heeseung sits up at this. Beomgyu however, looks around in confusion before his eyes light up.
"Your secret girlfriend is Jiwon?" Beomgyu gasps. Ignoring the clueless boy, Heeseung turns to Jungwon.
"Has she been going out late at night?" Heeseung asks. The past two days, Heeseung had been driving by the bridge, as he would like to call it, but didn't see Jiwon there at all. Maybe she was avoiding him, he had thought.
"Noona has been going out around 10 and coming back before 12 since she has to wake up early." Jungwon says, looking up to rack his brain the details. Heeseung pulls out his phone and looks at the time. 10.25 PM he read. Springing up from the couch, Heeseung pulls out his keys from his pocket and heads for his shoes.
"Wait, Heeseung's secret girlfriend has been Jiwon this whole time!" Beomgyu says, still as clueless as he was. Ignoring him, Heeseung shuts the door behind him and gets on his bike. With a rushed pace, Heeseung puts on his helmet and starts his bike, driving off the driveway as quickly as possible. As he got closer, Jiwon's silhouette appeared in the distance. His heart thumped against his chest as he got closer and closer. Hearing the roar of his motorcycle, Jiwon had already turned around as Heeseung approached. However, no words were spoken as Heeseung climbed up the railings and sat next to Jiwon. The bridge was quiet under the blanket of clouds, the moon peeking through like a shy spotlight on the two figures sitting there. Heeseung glances over to his left where Jiwon had her elbows resting on her knees, eyes scanning the rippling water below.
"Finally gracing me with your presence," Heeseung breaks the silence with a dramatic sigh. "Coming here so early in the night compared to your usual time, I thought you were avoiding me." Jiwon looks over, raising an eyebrow. Gosh, was she still beautiful as ever, Heeseung thought as he stared at her.
"Avoiding you? I've been busy fixing Jungwon's bike so I sleep early and wake up early to do it." Jiwon tells him. A little embarrassed, Heeseung lets out a small, awkward chuckle.
"Oh, right." He dryly coughs out. Thank goodness she isn't avoiding me, Heeseung thought to himself with a silent cheer. As it was silent between the two, Heeseung snuck small glances at Jiwon, admiring her side profile. Jiwon turns to look at him and Heeseung quickly looks away, afraid of being caught. Although, he wasn't sure why he looked away. Jiwon probably already knows how down-bad he was for her. Right?
"I never got to say this on Friday, but congrats on winning your game." Jiwon says softly. Heeseung's heart flutters in his chest and he gives her the widest grin he could muster. Boy oh boy did Heeseung think he was the happiest boy in the world right now. Jiwon checks the time and gets up. Sigh, guess it's time to be sad again, Heeseung thought. If Sunghoon was here and heard Heeseung sigh, he might've tossed Heeseung off the bridge himself. Luckily, he wasn't here, Heeseung shuddered. When Heeseung also got up to leave, Jiwon didn't say anything. She probably knew he was going to ride next to her anyways. And if she were to decline, he would have done it anyway. As they make their way towards the Yang household in comfortable silence, Jiwon turns to Heeseung once they arrive at the front of the house.
"Thanks." Jiwon says. There was a hint of nervousness in her voice but Heeseung chose not to question or tease her about it.
"Of course." Heeseung replies, a charming smile on his lips. He watches as Jiwon's teeth tug at her lips, wanting to say something.
"See you tomorrow." Jiwon waves before heading towards her front door. Those words echoed in Heeseung's mind as they repeated again and again. Heeseung's body shakes with excitement as he prepares to head back to the frat house. Once he got back, Heeseung dashed through the front door, ignoring the curious and worried expressions of his housemates, and went straight to bed. Heeseung couldn't wait for tomorrow to come.
