Mi Soo froze as the door burst open, revealing her brother, Mingyu, his face flushed with stress and worry. Behind him, Joshua and Soonyoung followed, their expressions equally tense. "Oppa, what’s going on?" she asked, her heart pounding.

Mingyu rushed over, his voice frantic. "Mi Soo-yah, you can’t marry the king. You need to leave—right now, before it’s too late."

Confusion washed over her. "But why, oppa?"

Joshua stepped forward, interrupting, his tone urgent. "Princess Mi Soo, it was all part of Jeonghan and Seungcheol’s plan. He’s only marrying you to use you as a pawn to gain control over Goryeo. Once he has you, your kingdom will fall into his hands."

Mi Soo's breath caught in her throat. "But... why are you helping us? Isn’t your loyalty with the king?" she asked, looking at Joshua with disbelief.

Joshua smiled bitterly, the pain in his eyes unmistakable. "You remind me of someone I couldn’t protect... and I won’t make that mistake again."

Soonyoung, standing beside him, added, "And I’m doing this for a friend. Just this once, I want to help."

Before Mi Soo could respond, the door opened again. Seokmin, Jihoon, Chan, and Seungkwan entered the room, flanking a figure whose face was hidden beneath a cloth. Her heart skipped a beat as the figure stepped forward, revealing none other than Minghao, battered and bruised.

"Minghao?" Mi Soo gasped, her voice breaking. She ran to him, her hands trembling as she embraced him tightly, feeling the rough cuts and bruises on his face. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she held him, and for the first time, Minghao let his own tears fall, burying his face in her shoulder as they clung to each other, both overwhelmed by the weight of their emotions.

In the midst of their embrace, a soft glow emanated between their chests—an ethereal light from the lotus symbol that bound them together, its radiance glowing brightly as if it were alive with their shared love and pain.

Mingyu, his own eyes filled with unshed tears, called out softly, "Mi Soo-yah."

She turned to her brother, her heart breaking at the sight of him. "Oppa," she whispered, her voice trembling, "Take care of yourself, okay."

Mingyu’s lips quivered, his love for his sister etched in every tear that fell. "I will. You too, Mi Soo. When you’re both safe... come and see me, sometimes. I’ll be waiting for you."

Mi Soo stared at her brother, her heart breaking into pieces. She could feel his pain as if it were her own, the weight of their bond heavy with unspoken words and shared memories. "Oppa..." she choked, her hands trembling as she reached out for him. "I don’t want to leave you oppa...i am scared."

Mingyu pulled her into his arms, his own tears falling freely now as he held her tight, as if by holding her he could somehow protect her from the cruel world that was tearing them apart
