Author's pov:

The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Taehyung's fever had finally broken, leaving him drenched in sweat and tangled in the duvet. His body felt heavy, his limbs weak from the exhaustion of fighting off the fever. Slowly, his eyes fluttered open, the world around him still hazy. He blinked a few times, trying to get his bearings, when his gaze landed on Jungkook standing by the sofa, holding something.

His journal.

Taehyung's eyes went wide in alarm, his heart suddenly racing again—not from fever, but from panic. Without a second thought, he yanked the cannula from his arm, grimacing as the sharp sting followed. He threw the duvet off in one swift motion and scrambled out of bed, though his legs wobbled beneath him, weakened from the illness. Stumbling but determined, he crossed the room in a few shaky steps, fueled by adrenaline.

"Don't touch my things!" Taehyung shouted, his voice cracking from both exhaustion and emotion as he snatched the journal from Jungkook's hands, startling him. His fingers trembled as he hugged the journal to his chest, his eyes blazing with a mix of fear and anger.

Jungkook, taken completely by surprise, remained stood, his hands frozen in the position they'd held the journal just moments before. His eyes followed Taehyung as he hurriedly shoved the journal back into his bag, along with the medicine bottle that he always carry one his bag one in his car and one in his home. Taehyung's breath was shallow, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he zipped the bag shut with shaky hands, refusing to meet Jungkook's gaze.

Jungkook watched him in stunned silence, the tension hanging thick in the air. He hadn't expected this reaction, not after caring for Taehyung through the night. But here they were, the fragile peace between them shattered by the simple act of holding a journal.

Taehyung sighed with relief as he collapsed onto the sofa, briefly closing his eyes. He quickly opened them, realizing where he was. His gaze swept the room, and he felt a profound realization. The space was filled with Jungkook's essence—portraits with friends and family on the walls, a guitar in the corner, and details reflecting everything Jungkook cherished----except him----he was so out of this place----a piece of shit, pathetic person who can ruined the liveliness of this place and if he'd stay more---it would be damaged completely.

He stood up slowly, eyes darting from the photographs to the familiar items that surrounded him. His mind raced as confusion settled in. What am I doing here? Why am I in his space? He looked at Jungkook, only to find him already staring, his expression intense. Jungkook's eyes narrowed, and for a moment, Taehyung was utterly confused as in next moment the idol stood close to him, holding his hand in his own.

"You're bleeding... You ripped out the cannula, didn't you?" Jungkook's eyes widened. he asked, his voice tight with concern,

"Stay still," Jungkook murmured, quickly guided Taehyung back to the sofa and made him sit down. rushing to the other side of the room,  Taehyung's heart clenched as he watched him rush back,  pulling open a drawer to grab the first aid kit.

he's too kind to me----me who ruined his youth and his heart, his everything.

taehyung couldn't help but think, as Jungkook drags coffee table closer to him as if he is  Kneeling down in front of him, Jungkook opened the kit with focused urgency.

Taehyung's heart squeezed painfully as Jungkook carefully took his injured hand in his own, his touch both gentle and firm, The room was silent except for the quiet sounds of Jungkook working, and Taehyung couldn't tear his eyes away from him. There was something so intimate, so grounding, in the way Jungkook cared for him, and Taehyung felt a mixture of emotions he couldn't quite name.
