He fucking kissed me. I was so chocked that I just stood there for a while, feeling his soft lips pressed onto mine. Then, I kissed him back. He groaned in my mouth and oh my god. He is driving me insane. Just a few seconds later, I realized what was happening. I quickly pushed him away. This time his tall figure moved and his lips left mine.
I touched my lips, trying to understand what had just happened. My lips were already missing his, but I ignored it.
"I knew you didn't hate me." He smirked at me. Without looking at him, I walked out the door and downstairs. He didn't stop me this time.
I felt like I was in an alternative universe. That didn't happen. Landon, my, now enemy and old best friend, who I have had a crush on for basically my entire life just kissed me.
I grabbed my phone and saw that Liam had texted me. Fuck.
I told him to meet me by the sofa as I took a seat. I was staring out at the people dancing, rethinking his kiss. There was so mang unanswered questions. I didn't even notice when Liam appeared. Probably also the fact that I have no idea what he looks like.
"Hey, Rebecca." He smiled sweetly at me. I took in his appearance. He had light brown hair, big green eyes and freckles covering his face. He looked stunning. He was definitely shorter and a little skinnier than Landon, but I didn't really mind. Landon was some sort of superhuman anyway. "Hi." I smiled back and went in for a hug. He smelled good, too.
"You look beautiful tonight." He said and scratched the back of his neck. "You look very good too!" I giggled and blushed a little at the compliment. "Are you having fun?" He asked me. "Yeah I guess so. You?" I said, suddenly very nervous. I didn't know how to hold a conversation going!
"Better now that you are here," He said but then continued. "Sorry, that was so cheesy." We both broke into laughter. "Do you maybe want to dance?" I said and gave him a nervous smile.
"I would love to." He grabbed my hand and walked me to where everyone else were dancing. "Tell me about yourself." He said as he looked at me.
"Well," I began, but didn't really know what to say. I wanted to impress him. Then, I though, fuck it. If he didn't like me then that's okay.
"What do you want to know?" I asked him. "Hobby, favorite animal, season, something you hate... I don't know."
"I love reading, cats and my favorite season is fall... and I despice coffee, yet still I'm trying so badly to like it."
"Interesting. I love coffee, so we are never going to work." He said, amused. I laughed at his comment. "We certainly won't."
"It's your turn." I said, looking him straight in the eyes as we danced. This feels like it's going good. "I love coffee, obviously. I prefer summer but fall is cool, I guess. I play hockey and I love it. My favorite part of the day is when practice is. I love listening to music and to other people." He smiled sweetly at me again.
Before I could answer, someone passed me in a swift motion, hitting my shoulder and almost making me lose my balance. I turned around and wasn't chocked to see that it was Landon. He sat down on the sofa. Genevive immediately took the opportunity to sit on his lap.
His arms were leaning on the top of the couch. He was looking between her and me. I couldn't hear what they were saying and I think it's for the better.
I turned my full focus back at Liam. "Are you okay?" He said.
"Yeah, no worries. You're really interesting." I said anxiously. "Well thank you. You too."
I smiled at "you too".
"Want to get out of here? Grab a bite or something?" He asked suddenly.
I took a glance back at Landon and Genevive. They were now kissing eachother, and he was slowly moving his hands down her back. He opened his eyes and stared at me, almost like he knew I was looking. I quickly turned my head back. He was kissing me less than 10 minutes ago and now he's kissing another girl. "Yeah, let's go."
