Nonon's got weird hobbies. She's big into music but she's been exploring places since after the Event happened. I don't know where we live is considered a "city" when most of the buildings are abandoned and left to crap. She's been like this since the Event left a lot of things to crap. I don't understand why she's drawn to that hospital. If anything, I'd have to wonder if she used to stay in that hospital or knew someone who did. Then again, maybe Nonon just wanted a space to play music, though she did bring home things from her explorations. Like that weird ass band and the raincoat girl.

Of the four of us, I think Gamagoori best remembers the Event, though he doesn't recall just what happened. Then again, it was something significant and things went to crap. After that, it was just the four of us—Houka, Nonon, me, and Gamagoori—fending for ourselves. I think, if memory serves, we found each other shortly after that. I don't remember how old we were but I know that Gamagoori is the oldest of the four of us. We've been sticking together since after the Event. I better remember that than the Event itself. It's easier to remember what came afterwards.

The world was gray and foggy. It smelled like a weird combo of concrete, fish, and cigarettes and the wind was blowing. I was wandering around, calling for my parents, in the chaos, and I happened upon Nonon, who was looking through some rubble for something that I don't remember. I asked her if she's seen my parents but, thinking about it, that was a stupid question.

"Have you seen my parents?"

"No...."

" 'kay, we'll just stick together."

"What happened?"

"I don't know."

The world was crap and Nonon and me were searching through trash barrels for something to eat, before we came across Gamagoori. If I remember correctly, he kind of took over being the "leader" and, since he's the oldest, we just went with it. As we walked around some more, looking for food, our parents, shelter, we found Houka just chilling, watching a skipping DVD on a laptop. Then three became four it was just four of us looking for our parents in a world that went to crap. Society was hella fucked and we were wandering the grunge and the rubble.

"Oh, hey, have you seen our parents?"

"No, and I don't know where mine are, either."

"So what do we do now?"

"We'll just keep looking for our parents."

We might've hung up posters with what we could make so we could find our parents but, I think, by a point, we realized weren't ever going to see our parents again. We did find other adults but I knew we would never separate. With our parents taken by the Event, all we had were each other, four orphans in a world gone to crap.

"What's gonna to happen to us?"

"Well, we have each other."

I don't know how long ago that was, but I know we were kids then. That was years ago and, now, Nonon still explores abandoned buildings in a world gone to crap. I don't know why because, at first, it made sense, but, now, it doesn't. If anything, I'd have to wonder what she's looking for and I know it can't be anything interesting. That is, until she saw "May" in that hospital and then we get her bringing home little feral girls who raid fridges.

I'd have to wonder if there was something familiar about that hospital, as Nonon, once, mentioned that she stayed in one before the Event. By a point, I'm starting to wonder if she was looking for a lost loved one, like how we tried to find our parents. If she is, who is she looking for? Nonon never did talk about her life before the Event besides wondering what her mother's voice sounded like, as she forgot. Thinking about it, I don't think either of us could remember our lives before the Event too well.

Sometimes, little slivers of memories before seep through, like what my mother looked like or the school I went to, but I don't remember so much beyond that. I think I might remember what shaved ice tasted like and how we don't really have shaved ice anymore, nowadays, though, I do remember one of the last memories of my family was where we got shaved ice. That was in the summer and, nowadays, I don't really know what "summer" looks like.

Nowadays, it's just us—Nonon, Gamagoori, Houka, and me—four orphans still in a world gone to crap.
