Evelyn didn't know why she even agreed in the first place. She told herself she'd never get involved with Clucky again.
Honestly, when she met Bill's supposed daughter, Bella Cipher, and agreed to help her locate her dad, the exorcist didn't think that they'd ever bump into Clucky again.
Even though it's been a few days, Evelyn still wondered how such a demon could be so energetic or even so playful. Sure, ever since Vaggie's fall, Evelyn often found herself wondering if demons deserved death or not, but still.
Out of all the demons she encountered, Bella was by far the only overly friendly and even curious type she had met. Even after everything the demon had been through, Bella acted really innocent, as if the world was still some fairy tale.
Yet, Evelyn didn't know how Bella finally convinced her to take shelter within a certain restaurant.
While they were out traveling, a storm hit, leaving the two soaked for hours until they saw the restaurant. It was the only place out in the open.
To be honest, rather than put up with Clucky, Evelyn would've stayed out and endure the storm. Bella, on the other hand, was cold and even hungry.
The demon wanted to go inside where it was warm and possibly had food. She didn't want to spend another hour in this difficult rainstorm.
Evelyn didn't want to force her. However, there was the possibility of running into Clucky and some of the mascots if they decided to take shelter.
Besides, Bella was just too curious to the point where she just wanted to check out every little thing that intrigued her and then write away in her diary.
It was like she was a puppy dog. Always just sticking her nose around things when she was in a new environment.
A classic fish out of water. The moment she stepped one foot inside, Evelyn knew she would just run off due to how big the restaurant was.
Unfortunately, it was easy for Bella to sway her into doing things. And Evelyn found herself agreeing to shelter herself with the demon inside the restaurant of a certain chicken.
That's how she found herself following behind Bella as they stepped foot into the restaurant. Bella's eye sparkled as she gazed around the room.
The bright colors orange and white on the walls, red tables with what seemed to be leftover buckets. Bella could smell the sweet greasy scent coming from them.
As she checked her surroundings. She nearly bumped into what seemed to be cardboard cutout. It was of the chicken she saw on the sign outside the restaurant.
White feathers, derpy eyes, red...hair? Other than that, he also wore a pair of dark red shorts with black suspenders.
Next to the cardboard cutout, was a sign with a red button. Bella pushed it out of curiosity. "Don't be a chicken!" She heard a recorded voice speak out. "Come on over, and try my secret recipe!"
Bella blinked a bit. She pushed it again. She heard the same recording. She heard Evelyn chuckle, and turned to her with confusion. "What's so funny?"
"It's nothing," Evelyn shook her head as she placed her hands on her hips. "I take you never heard a voice recording?"
"Um, someone sent me a video almost a year ago," Bella explained a bit. "I've never heard a voice recording before."
"Yeah, well, there's your first cardboard cutout recording," Evelyn smiled. "It's pretty common to see those things in popular places."
"Really?" Bella lit up.
"Yep," Evelyn spoke. However, her smile faded as Bella began to walk off. "Woah, woah, where are you going?"
