Nathalie sat on the couch, her hands cradling her growing belly. Gabriel sat beside her, beaming with joy.
"We're going to be parents again!" he exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement.
Nathalie smiled, feeling a mix of emotions. She was happy, but also nervous about how Adrien would adjust to the new addition.
Speaking of Adrien, he walked into the room, his eyes fixed on his phone. "What's all the fuss about?" he asked gruffly.
Gabriel put his arm around Nathalie. "We're having a baby, son!"
Adrien's expression darkened. "Great, just what I need. Another person to deal with."
Nathalie felt a pang of hurt, but Gabriel just chuckled. "Come on, Adrien, be happy for us!"
Adrien rolled his eyes. "Whatever".
Nathalie got up from the couch, trying to ignore Adrien's attitude. "I'm going to start lunch," she said, heading to the kitchen.
Gabriel followed her, always eager to help. "What can I do, my love?" he asked, giving her a gentle kiss on the cheek.
Nathalie smiled, feeling grateful for his support. "Just set the table, please."
As they worked together in the kitchen, Adrien stormed in, his face red with anger. "Why are you always so obsessed with her?" he snapped at Gabriel.
Gabriel looked up, concerned. "What's wrong, son?"
"You're always looking at her, always caring about her and the...the thing she's carrying," Adrien spat.
Nathalie felt a sting from his words, but Gabriel remained calm. "Adrien, Nathalie is my wife, and I love her. And our baby is a blessing, not a 'thing'."
Adrien scowled, turning away. "Whatever."
Gabriel sighed, putting a hand on Nathalie's shoulder. "Don't mind him, my love. He'll come around."
Nathalie nodded, trying to believe him. But as she served lunch, she couldn't help feeling a pang of worry. Would Adrien ever accept her and their child?
Just as they sat down to eat, a loud crackling sound filled the air. Nathalie's eyes widened as she saw flames licking at the kitchen curtains.
"Fire!" Gabriel shouted, jumping up. "Nathalie, get out of here!"
Nathalie's breath caught in her throat as Gabriel grabbed her arm, pulling her towards the door. But the smoke was thick, making it hard to see.
"Gabriel, I can't breathe!" Nathalie gasped.
Gabriel quickly pulled off his shirt, covering Nathalie's mouth and nose. "Hold onto me, I've got you!"
Adrien, who had been frozen in shock, suddenly shouted, "Dad! Help me!"
Gabriel turned, seeing Adrien trapped behind the kitchen table. "Adrien, get under the table, I'll come for you!"
But Adrien panicked, screaming, "No, Dad, you have to get me out of here!"
Gabriel hesitated, torn between saving his pregnant wife and his son. Nathalie, sensing his distress, urged him, "Go, Gabriel, save Adrien!"
With a swift motion, Gabriel pulled Adrien from behind the table and swept him into his arms. "Hold onto me, son!"
As they stumbled towards the door, Nathalie followed close behind, her heart racing with fear. Would they make it out alive?
Alarms blaring, flames engulfing the room, Gabriel rushed back inside, desperate to save Nathalie. He found her collapsed on the floor, overcome by smoke.
