The heavy raindrops hits your body, the pain exponentially increased due to your high speed on the bike, plus: on a hill. Your hands tightening your grip on the handlebars, you couldn't be careless for even a moment or it would be your death. 'It's better to die falling from the bike now than deal with the coach's lecture for being late, AGAIN' you thought. As if the universe wanted to silence your thoughts, an unexpected and heated typhoon of air passed by your side, followed by a horn. Thanks to your athletic background, your reflex was present and you managed to control your balance on the bike. It was enough to throw your thoughts away and focus on getting to college alive.

There wasn't much point in trying to surpass the speed of light and almost dying in the process, cause 1, you're already late and 2, you're soaked, soaking wet, almost drowning. After more than 30 minutes 'listening' to the coach's lecture about how you should be more disciplined, be an example for the younger ones and blah blah blah, he comanded you to do a ten running sessions around the football field and, that's right, regardless of whether it was far from stopping raining. Since there wasn't much to do, and you depend on the sports scholarship to get your diploma, you simply followed orders and now you're on the third lap.
Normally you would have no problem finishing the ten laps in less than 40 minutes, you would do it with one foot strapped behind your back. But the problem started when your soaked clothes weighed a ton more, your wet socks rubbed your feet and you definitely hated tight clothes, it was like you were living your biggest nightmare. Apart from the fact that you weren't being rejected by Park Minju. Which would never happen, since it's humanly impossible for you to even be able to think when she's around.
Speaking of the devil. You barely noticed a pair of eyes as deep as the bottom of the sea, which looked more like two 'tapioca pearls', were looking at you affectionately from the covered stands. A chill ran down your spine and like a magnet, the magnetism drew your eyes to a specific corner of the stands. You stopped halfway through your seventh lap and placed a hand over your eyes to avoid the drops of water. Your eyes met hers, the corners of your lips rose automatically. It's like this every time, you can't help it, you never could.

"Yo" you greeted her as usual as you crossed the small fence that separated the base of the stands from the field. You ran a hand through your hair, throwing it back to rid them of your vision. She smiled, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Hey. Are you late again?" she asked as the distance between you two closed. Minju covered part of her palm with the sleeve of her pink sweater and wiped away a few drops of water that were dripping on your chin. Your eyes took advantage of her inattention and went over all the delicate features of her face, from her well-defined nose to her shiny, moistened lips. Again, your eyes met each other and neither of you made a move to look away.
"Yeah" you confessed as you scratched the back of your head and an embarrassed laugh escaped your lips. "But it's not like I'm not used to it, it's kind of become routine," you sat on one of the benches and she followed. "You have to wake up earlier then. You know how important this scholarship is" she scolded you as she slided some strands of your bangs, still damp, stuck to your forehead with her finger. You just nodded. There was no point arguing about your alarm clock never working when right now what you wanted the most was to kiss her and you were fighting all your intrusive thoughts that had accumulated for 15 years.
"I think we better go in or you're going to catch a cold", she got up and you followed. Minju hadn't realized until now, but the equation: white shirt + rainwater = transparent, all your years of effort were noticeable beneath the thin fabric that outlined your entire, not exaggeratedly defined, abdomen and the apparent entrances near the base. Minju felt her heart palpitate and quickly tried to hide the redness on her face by walking in the opposite direction of you, towards the exit of the field (and entrance to the locker room). You smiled, that didn't go unnoticed.
