"Leta, I need your hair routine!"

A voice chirped as girls from another classroom surrounded your friend, Leta in a desperate manner.

You internally groaned as you lay your head on the desk, facing away from the giggling students that were beside you.

You've been growing accustomed to the countless of students that practically kissed the ground Leta walks on. They gushed over anything the girl says or does, it was almost like they worshiped her as if she was an enchanting being.

Normally, it would've made you irritated. Wasting their own dignity for someone who barely remembers their own names, they are devoting themselves to a brick wall realistically.

Your chemistry class was a bore. The main teacher, Miss. Galendez, had been absent for an approximate 2 weeks. Unable to find a suitable substitute yet, one of the 3rd-year English teachers had volunteered to take over the class.

However, it was obvious that the teacher— Mrs. Polin, was inexperienced in the field of chemistry. Your class was tasked to read through countless of pages from an online textbook she assigned. The overloaded work had distracted your sleep schedule.

Even a minimum of 4 hours of sleep was a blessing for you.

Your eyes closed in an attempt to compensate for those missing hours of sleep. The chatters of many students filled your ears, not in a distracting way, but as if it was a somewhat lullaby for you.

You were almost at peace.

Until someone kicked the back of your chair harshly. Your body jolted forward, eyes opening immediately at the abrupt contact.

"Hey, get up."

A voice behind you demanded.

You lifted your head cautiously. The giggles you've heard beside you was gone, and silence filled the air with the presence of a beast just inches away from you.

You didn't hitch your breath, and instead turned around calmly.

It was another female student that wore a uniform similar to your own, to every student that attends Koyo. However, a name tag was embroidered near the collar of her uniformed shirt. In bolded, italic words you read the two words that were sewn neatly: VICE PRESIDENT.

You noticed faded highlights colored in her dark, red hair that was held up in a loose bun. Her shoulders were broad like a swimmer, her face slightly chiseled which defined her sharp features. One golden, small earring was pierced on her left ear.

In all your honesty, you were slightly intimidated. Just by her voice that was deeper than most girls, her siren-like eyes that were seizing at the sight of you— it made you feel like you were powerless.

"Excuse me?"

You questioned, pretending to play dumb. You felt the stare of Leta burn through the side of your head. Her eyes were strained away from her zombielike followers. Her silence towards you made you annoyed.

The red-haired girl huffed loudly. She grabbed the edge of your chair, gripping it tightly with her fingers. Her head lowered.

"I want to sit here. So move."

"You know, all you had to do was ask kindly."

You scooted your chair further into the table, knocking her hand away. Your arm laid on the wooden, empty desk that both you and Leta shared.

"I don't think this is your class either way, so technically I have the right to sit here."

"Hah! The right?"
