Tomorrow was the day. The last school day of the year for 1st and 2nd years.3rd years had the week off due to preparation for their own graduation. During that week, the school felt empty. It was a peaceful bliss after the events that had occurred weeks ago.
Your 1st year of Koyo would finally end tomorrow.
But it was also the day you and Mattheo would publicly announce your secret relationship.
You shuttered. A sudden chill ran up your spine, causing you to sit down on your bed. You gripped the warm sheets underneath, lowering your head in concentration.
The text Mattheo had sent left you conflicted and confused.
You had previously asked him about how the two of you would confront the entirety of the school of your relationship. Very few possibilities rose inside of your mind; though the main problem was Mattheo has stubbornly not announced his breakup with Leta yet.
It angered you. You spammed Mattheo with the request of hurriedly ending the relationship between the two, so you would look less of a "home wrecker".
Though despite your persistent texts over the course of the week, he had yet to comply to your command. It made you frustrated and confused.
Why had Mattheo indirectly refused to break up with Leta?
Unable to sit and ponder about his actions, you leeched off of your bed to grab your phone. You opened it with haste, scrolling down on your contacts until you found his name.
Pressing on his icon, your eyes flickered to the recent text that made you conflicted.
MATH🖕🏻: Trust me k?
You groaned.
Trust him? What was there to trust?
You stood up, throwing your phone on your bed before walking over to a wooden desk. You felt that Mattheo wasn't taking the dire situation as seriously as you were. The nagging thoughts of what was to come tomorrow polluted your mind, making you unable to enjoy the breakfast of a burnt toast with butter.
Yet Mattheo seemed perfectly fine. In fact, he seemed to be more carefree with the days passing by.
Your eyes flickered to the multiple sheets of paper sprawled across. You'd spent hours gorging and analyzing the documents from the red folder that you've collected weeks ago. It had left you in vain.
The printed papers all circulated towards one sole topic; which was the school's history of students. The information was dated back since the early 1700's— this society was much older than you've perceived it to be.
You learned that Koyo had previously been named "Artisan High". It's record for the most amount of students dated back 15 years ago; reaching about 978 students.
According to the hundreds of dates presented in one of the sheets, you assumed it was for the number of years the architectural building had been remodeled. It was odd to you— why did the government focus solely on the creation of Koyo?
This folder contained what seemed to be the premise of how this prestigious school came to be.
Your fingers softly grazed the bolded numbers, your eyes moving down the list in some sort of trance. Everything was interesting, but not in a beneficial way. Learning the history of this school is useless. You wanted the future.
Your fingers roamed around one of the papers before your eyes focused on something odd, something you haven't seen before despite analyzing everything for hours.
