"Hey, Jackson, how have you been?" Mrs.Kim asked, her voice carrying a warmth that always made Jackson feel at home.

"Good, eomma. How about you?" Jackson replied, his tone light as he leaned back on the couch, expecting the usual exchange of pleasantries.

"I'm doing good too, thanks for asking," she responded, but there was a slight hesitation in her voice, a subtle crack that Jackson noticed immediately.

"Are you guys out? 'Cause you dont seem to be home," Jackson asked casually, though something in the back of his mind started to stir—an instinct that something wasn't quite right.

"Yh..." Her answer was low and brief, far too brief. It was enough for Jackson to understand that something was very wrong. The silence on the line felt heavy, pressing down on him with each passing second.

"Eomma, where are you? What's wrong?" Jackson's voice grew more urgent, concern threading through his words as he sat up straight, his heart beginning to race.

There was a brief pause, as if she was gathering her thoughts, trying to find the right words. When she finally spoke, her voice was calm, but laced with an emotion that Jackson had rarely heard from her—fear. "We're at the hospital."

The words hit Jackson like a ton of bricks, his mind immediately going to Y/n. "The hospital? Eomma, what happened? Are you ok? Is Y/n okay?" His voice was shaky now, the calm exterior he usually maintained crumbling as worry surged through him.

Y/n's mom sighed softly, the sound heavy with the weight of what she had to say. "Y/n... she's been diagnosed with diabetes. She collapsed earlier today, and we rushed her here. She's conscious now, but it's been a lot for her to take in. We're all with her, but I know she'd want to see you and Lisa."

Jackson's heart clenched at the thought of Y/n, his little sister in all but blood, lying in a hospital bed, scared and vulnerable. He had always been protective of her, ever since they were kids. The idea of her going through something so frightening tore at him.

"Eomma, I'm on my way," Jackson said, already grabbing his keys. "I'll bring Lisa too. We'll be there as soon as we can."

"Thank you, Jackson," Y/n's mom replied, her voice softening with relief. "She needs all the support she can get right now. I know how much you and Lisa mean to her."

As Jackson and Lisa hurried through the hospital corridors, their minds raced with worry. Jackson, being several years older, had always taken on a protective role, watching over both Lisa and Y/n like a big brother. Y/n, had always been like a little sister to him, and the idea of her being in the hospital shook him to his core.

Lisa and Y/n were practically sisters, and Lisa couldn't imagine her life without Y/n.

When they reached Y/n's hospital room, they paused, sharing a quick, concerned glance before Jackson pushed open the door. Y/n was sitting up in bed, looking pale but relieved to see them. "Jackson, Lisa..." she greeted, her voice tired but filled with warmth.

Lisa quickly crossed the room and gently hugged Y/n. "Hey, you," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "How are you feeling?"

Y/n mustered a small smile. "I'm okay. Just... tired and overwhelmed."

Jackson moved to the other side of the bed, his expression serious but caring. "You don't have to be strong all the time, Y/n. We're here for you, no matter what."

Y/n looked between the two of them, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I just... I don't want to be a burden. Everything's changed so fast, and I hate feeling like this."
