‘I don’t know if you’re going to like this,’ Elise Quinn said. They were at a surprise party. ‘Come on, I believe that you’re going to give me the best of the best,’ Miranda Mills chuckled. ‘Okay. One, two, three!’ Elise opened Miranda’s eyes. ‘SURPRISED!’ everybody shouted. Miranda laughed. ‘Happy birthday, Mira!’ they shouted happily.
Miranda Mills house was full of people, brought presents, gave her congratulation, and ate her birthday cake. Miranda hugged Elise. ‘Thank you, El! You’ve just given me the best birthday... ever!’ she said. ‘Ahh, not really, Mira. I believed you have another birthdays that are better than this,’ they laughed.
Mira and Elise had been friends since they were given a task together by the Head Quarter—solving a murder. Yes, they were agents. They worked for the FBI, and that’s where they met. The Head Quarter asked them to investigate a murder caused by a serial killer called RED. Every time he killed somebody, he painted the wall around the victim red—using the victim’s blood, and left a message, sometime just a short message like a letter. He had killed more than 4 innocent people, and they hadn’t got him yet.
But they could forget about that and enjoy this moment.
Or not.
Elise’s phone rang. ‘Of course,’ she muttered. ‘Quinn,’ she said. ‘Oh hi Quinn. This is Francis,’ the person on the phone said. ‘FRANCIS! You little cutie! Why didn’t you come tonight? We’re having a party here!’ she screamed. ‘Whoa! No need to scream, hon. Listen, I can’t come because when I was going to go to the party, Connor called,’ Francis said. Quinn sighed. ‘Another case?’ Elise sounded not interested at all. ‘Yup. Now you better hurry here and tell Mira to come,’
Elise was surprised. ‘No! She can’t come! She’s the birthday girl! I’m going there on my own,’ Elise said.
Elise went out from the house and got into her car. ‘Where’s the location?’ she asked Francis on the phone. ‘Near your house. You’re going to love this Elle,’ Francis said.
She finally arrived. ‘Oh my gosh,’ she was shocked. ‘Told you. You’re going to love this,’ Francis said. Francis is a cute and handsome guy with blonde hair, and he used his party costume – a polo shirt and a short pants. ‘Where were you going?’ She asked. ‘Party!’ Francis answered, and both of them laughed.
They both got inside the house, and found the scariest thing ever: a body. She’s a woman, in her 30s, with black hair, and her stomach was cut into to, so you can see everything inside her stomach. And also, blood was spread all over the room. And the wall—it was painted red, with a small message: A.
‘A?’ Elise said. ‘Well, this guy is a hell of a killer. He killed this woman, took her blood and use it to paint the wall, and write A. How fascinating,’ Francis mocked the killer, even though he wasn’t there. ‘And you said that I’m going to love this. Instead, I really want to barf,’ Elise said. It was really disgusting, and at the same time, she felt sorry for the woman.
‘Elise! You’re here! I thought you were in Mira’s birthday party!’ another guy said happily, Joseph Bishop. ‘Oh, hi Joe. I was until Francis called me and then I have to visit this—ugh!’
Joe Bishop laughed. ‘So, identity?’ Elise asked him. ‘Uhm, her name’s Jasmine Powers, 30s, married, but she doesn’t have any child. Her husband died two years ago, so she was completely alone,’ Joe said. Elise looked at her body. ‘Are you sure that RED did this?’ Francis asked.
‘That’s the interesting part. I’m not sure if RED did this, because, if RED is the killer, he won’t took the woman’s ovary,’ Joe explained. ‘Why would someone want a dead woman’s ovary?’ Elise muttered.
